these are the latest pictures that we received of them arriving in a coach. we'll have more on this across the program. let's take a closer look at some of the hostages released by hamas today. amongst the group are sisters, dafna and ela elyakim. they were attacked at their home in kibbutz nir oz. the girls were part of a family group whose capture was live—streamed by the attackers themselves. also for the first time, an american—israeli citizen was released earlier today. abigail idan was just three at the time she was taken hostage — she spent her fourth birthday in captivity. her parents were killed by hamas gunmen during the october seven attacks. her great aunt and cousin said they hoped and prayed today would come and expressed graititude to president biden, the qatari government and other parties involved in helping the release. they also said that today's release proves that we can all get all the hostages back home. that was in a statement they released just a short time ago. my colleague, anna foster, is in tel aviv — with the latest. the day actually began with a sense of anxiety more than we've seen in the last few days. yesterday's exchange on day two was delayed for quite a few hours, it was only in the very early hours of the morning when we finally got confirmation that the second group of israeli hostages had been released, and the second group of palestinian detainees in israeli jails had been freed. so when the day began i think people were hoping for it to be a lot more smooth. i think more like what they had seen on friday, then on saturday. and things didn't seem to progress according to plan. there were some early suggestions about foreign passport holders who would be released alongside the next group of israelis. and then we heard from various groups that that handover had taken place of 14 israelis in this particular group. they were handed over to the red cross, as has happened for the past three days. slightly different this time, we heard it discussed in a briefing from the israel defense forces was that in previous days, they hand over of israeli hostages from hamas to the red cross had happened in the southern part of gaza. but today, it happened in the north, that is the area where the fighting is at its most intense. it's the area where, in fact, palestinians in gaza have been told to move away from. they've been told to move away from. they've been told to move south in the strip. there have been a lot of discussions in the last few weeks about where the hostages were being held, many of them in that tunnel network underneath gaza. and i think it was also that the expectation that those hostages, still more than 200 or so being held in gaza, were being held in different locations as well. and we are hoping the us presidentjoe biden, that his was the first confirmation that actually the first confirmation that actually the israeli hostages today did not leave through the rough across thing, as they have done for the last few days, into egypt. the first time the group of israeli hostages passed directly through into israel through the kibbutz area, one of them that have been attacked on the 7th of october, they have now been received in israel, they've gone to various medical centres in the country to receive treatment, and not long after that we saw the final piece in the jigsaw, not long after that we saw the final piece in thejigsaw, which not long after that we saw the final piece in the jigsaw, which was the release of palestinian prisoners being held in israeli jails, 39 of them, all today we were told aged under 18. what we don't have as part of this exchange, and it's the same on both sides, we're not seeing the release of men. we are seeing only women and children. also in terms of the palestinian detainees, were not seeing the release of anybody who has been convicted of murder. the people who are being used exchange for the israeli hostages have been accused or convicted of crimes ranging from stonethrowing to attempted murder. we saw a bus, a white coach moving from ofer into the checkpoint, on to deliver those 39 palestinian minors. been told that the israeli authorities, public demonstrations, expressions have not been allowed. there will again be relief on both sides that the choreography, the logistics all went smoothly as as of october. we've seen more than 200 trucks a day of aid go from egypt into gaza. interestingly, one of the delays yesterday was about how masts were unhappy with the amount of aid that was reaching the amount of aid that was reaching the north of the gaza strip. we are told today that more than 60 aid trucks did go north and take additional humanitarian aid into the north of the strip. also, again, a key part of this was fuel, because thatis key part of this was fuel, because that is something that was not included. you remember when the rafah crossing first opened it to trucks once again, israel made it quite clear that fuel was not something that they wanted to pass through because they felt that hamas would take that fuel and not give it to the mentoring population, and use it instead in their efforts against the israeli military. but as part of this deal that was hammered out by qatar, eight tankers every day, for containing diesel and for containing cooking gas, have been passing into gaza. that happened again today. we saw long queues particularly in rafah, people taking their containers to be filled out, there wasn't one gas station that had to close altogether because it was so overwhelmed with the queues of people who arrive to try and get some of that aid. and he has not just been fuel, it's been full of food and water, the basics, things like medical supplies as well. i spoke a little earlier to james denzel lowe from save the children uk. he spoke a little bit more about that additional humanitarian aid that's been going into gaza and whether or actually, the view any tel aviv. i'm an hostages square in tel aviv. i'm an hostages square in tel aviv, and you can see there on the wall of the tel aviv museum of art we will watch over the last few days these projections of hostages, and you can see there in the bottom it in english, i am back home. these are the group that were released on day three, as well as these images we do also see the images of those many hostages who remain in gaza as well. and that is absolutely crucial, because the deal, as it stands, only made provision for the release of 50 israeli hostages and 150 palestinian prisoners over this four—day period. there were provisions put in place that to potentially be extended. israel had said that for every ten further hostages who were released, they would be prepared to agree to an extra 26 hours of cease—fire. the list of palestinian prisoners that was how get published, because it has to be legally published here in israel so people can object to it, but something that's actually enshrined in law here. and that this was not of 150 names but 300, again, laying the groundwork for possible extension. and we've just heard laying the groundwork for possible extension. and we'vejust heard in the last few hours that hamas have been giving indications, they say, that they may be open to the idea of an extension of several days, perhaps 2—4 days. i remember egypt saying yes right afternoon they were hearing some positive movement towards a potential extension of the trees. so this will be the key tomorrow. will this four days pass as it is supposed to? will the cease—fire continue to hold? will be humanitarian aid continued to pass into gaza the way it's supposed to, and will we see the final release, as planned, of the israeli hostages and the palestinian prisoners. and if that all goes to plan, the next question will become a candace truce be extended? qatar have said publicly on more than one occasion that they hope that it can. humanitarian organisations have been very vocal about the fact that they hoped that it can. even the us, the us presidentjoe biden who was speaking earlier particularly the release of abigail it on, the israeli us citizen. he was talking about the extension as well. there will be a lot of attention paid tomorrow to what is going on behind the scenes as we wait to see if this four—day deal, this four day truce can be extended and can lead to a longer period of cease—fire, more humanitarian aid and an extended exchange of hostages and prisoners. just to bring you some breaking news. we heard earlier president biden leaking and pointing out that he would be speaking to the israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu at some point today, sunday. and we are now getting details of that call. so this is just coming to us here at bbc news, let mejust this is just coming to us here at bbc news, let me just take you through the call that was had between present biden and prime minister netanyahu. we spoke today with prime minister benjamin netanyahu of israel to discuss a situation in gaza, the president welcomed the release of hostages by hamas over the past three days, including a young american girl. the two leaders also discussed the pause in the fighting, and also a surge in much—needed additional humanitarian assistance into gaza. detail goes on to say that the prime minister, that is mr netanyahu, thanked the president, mr biden, for his tireless efforts to help broker and fully implement this deal. the two leaders agreed that the work is not yet done, and that they will continue to working to secure the release of all hostages. the two leaders agreed to remain in close contact over the coming days. no we also know that mr netanyahu told president biden that at the end of this truce, israel will resume the gaza operation with full force. that is coming to us via the reuters news agency. as i said, mr biden did speak earlier. the images you've got on your screen right now, it's actually prime minister netanyahu on his first visit to gaza since october seven, and that military operation following attacks by hamas into southern israel. so that was him visiting earlier. the call came in the hours that followed. president biden had spoken earlier and in terms of his aspirations, his goal as he described it, regarding this current pause in fighting. he said that our goal is to keep this pause going beyond tomorrow so that we can continue to see more hostages come out, and surge more humanitarian relief into those, and who need in gaza. we had had an indication of very much following the lines that we heard from prime minister netanyahu today, fighting would resume in the call to president biden when daniel had gary spoke and he also indicating that israelis were to remain alert and there was preparation for the continuation of fighting him a bit in the meantime as we heard there from anna foster, the military side of hamas have indicated that they also want to extend the current pause. so we've watching those details very carefully but lots of discussions being held today. the latest between prime minister netanyahu and president biden, just to add very quickly that earlier, president biden had said that he's been working very closely with president cc of egypt, the israeli government, came abdul ofjordan, try to expand the delivery of this humanitarian assistance, he described as critical. we'll have more on that as and when we get it. now let's return to further details on our coverage. according to its deal with released, this would be to see news. hello there. good evening. it was another cold and frosty start this morning for many, including here in chatsworth in derbyshire, as captured by one of our weather watchers. it will turn briefly milder for many overnight tonight. but generally, the theme as we head through this week is it will stay cold as we head into the start of december. more frosty nights, icy stretches, freezing fog patches and wintry showers, even possibly to lower levels at times. but through the day today, we've been dragging in some milder air across much of northern ireland, england and wales, along with showery outbreaks of rain that will continue to extend a further northwards and eastwards through the night, perhaps as far north as the central belt of scotland. and then that rain will pull southwards as we head through the small hours of tomorrow morning. some wintry showers still piling into much of scotland, even perhaps to lower levels at times. still an air frost here and possibly still a touch of frost across northern areas of england, too, is that rain clears southwards, but a lot milder, frost—free for northern ireland, england and wales for the most part. now we could possibly see some snow over the tops of the pennines tomorrow morning, maybe even some of this rain falling as snow over the top of the peak district as well. but it will clear as rain further southwards and eastwards. it's blustery for these north sea facing coasts. there'll be some showers here again, wintry at times, perhaps a scattering of showers for the west. also some sunny spells, temperatures ranging between seven and 12 degrees celsius, still mild out towards the far south west of england. now that low pressure system will pull away into the near continent as we head through monday night and into tuesday, by which time will be coming to that colder feeling. watch out for some icy stretches, perhaps on tuesday morning where we will have seen the recent rain and there'll be more showers just moving into aberdeenshire, i think wintry in nature again, even to lower level. some showers moving into the south west of scotland, perhaps the far north west of northern ireland, too. but elsewhere, largely dry, plenty of added wind chill, a brisk northerly blowing, and temperatures are really struggling, particularly towards the north. now as we head through tuesday and into wednesday, we'll see some freezing fog patches. and then we're tracking this deep area of low pressure pushing in towards the south of england as that rain bumps into the colder air. there is a good chance that we could see some snow to lower levels across the south of england as we head through thursday, but still a lot of uncertainty in the forecast. here's the outlook for some of our cities as we head through the week. it will be staying cold. welcome to bbc news, i am luca brecel iraq withjudo's welcome to bbc news, i am luca brecel iraq with judo's
