I spoke to our correspondent wyre davies who is there. This is a pretty familiar scene. Israeli artillery and air strikes against positions very close to the border between israel and gaza itself. Of course, overnight we heard about these israeli incursions with tanks and with bulldozers along the strip here. Now, those, of course, were incursions, the Israeli Government says, that are preparing for that full scale invasion. Whenever that comes. Its quite significant that it had bulldozers because they were literally paving the way for others to come into gaza on a perhaps more permanent basis when an israeli invasion does happen. But for the time being and overnight, weve had air strikes not just here in the north, but also further down in khan yunis in Southern Gaza against again, what israel says are hamas targets in the south that have been casualties, many of them civilians. And the difficult thing for Gazan Civilians is that that area of Southern Gaza is where theyve been told to flee to by the Israeli Government as it pursues its campaign against hamas targets here in the north. And of course, the United Nations has even said many people are actually coming back up to Northern Gaza. So dire is the situation in the south. And its been interesting to to try to glean some some insights into the military thinking by the statements and now for the first time, these photographs that they have issued about this incursion into the gaza strip, youll remember we were in the first few days, all it gave was a brief statement, but it is coming under a lot of pressure. We feel that in the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus statements, so many are asking when is this invasion going to take place . But given what the idf also said, that these these limited Ground Attacks also help them to prepare for whats likely to lie ahead. Indeed. And of course, the Prime Minister has got a dilemma here.
