Ms letby is accused of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill 10 others at the countess of Chester Hospital in the north west of england, Betweenjune 2015 and june 2016. She denies the charges. Lets get more now from our correspondent lucy grey. Lucy, remind us where things are with this case. This is day 20 of deliberations for the jewelry here at Manchester Crown court. Last week we had a Majority Direction from the judge. That means he would accept verdicts if the jury of 11 people were in agreement, if ten of them were in agreement. So ten of them were in agreement. So ten out of the 11, he would accept their verdict. There had been so much evidence for them to go through over the last ten months here at Manchester Crown court. They have been hearing some harrowing testimony. They were given ipads at the start of the trial, because of the start of the trial, because of the thousands of pages of evidence they were going to have to go through. Lucy letby, this nurse who is 33, originally from hereford, she is 33, originally from hereford, she is charged with, as you say, murdering seven babies and attempting to murder ten other babies in her care at the Neonatal Unit at the hospital. This is, i refer to the period Betweenjune 2015 and june 2016. This unit, the Neonatal Unit, this is where babies would be taken if they were unwell or premature, so take in there shortly after their birth. There are 22 counts. The reason why there are more counts than babies, there are 17 babies at the heart of this case, is because it is the prosecutions case that she attempted to murder some of these babies are more than one occasion. The prosecution claim that she did this in a variety of ways, through using insulin, or injecting them with air, or by trying to tamper with their feeding tubes, oralso, in some trying to tamper with their feeding tubes, or also, in some cases, implementing physical trauma.
