And the lowest point on land has been found in antarctica 3,500 kilometres below sea level. Democrats in the us are getting closer to making donald trump the third us president ever to be impeached. The Housejudiciary Committee is debating two articles of impeachment against donald trump abuse of power and obstruction of congress, and they are expected to approve them in the next hour or two. This is what President Trump thinks of the charges. The House Democrats announced these two flimsy pathetic ridiculous articles of impeachment. The House Democrats are walking back from everything they claimant. Claimed. The democrats control the house of representatives, and today nancy pelosi, the speaker of the house, gave her response to the president. The president is wrong. We have put forth our articles of impeachment and we are very proud of all the committees, six committees have been working on this for a very long time. This is nothing swift. But it is urgent. Last month the House Judiciary Committee held televised hearings, where they interviewed witnesses the democrats believe prove that donald trump abused his power by trying to force ukraine to investigate his political rivaljoe biden, and then obstructed congress when lawmakers tried to look into the matter. Those hearings were split along party lines and todays debate has been no different. The president committed the highest crime against the constitution by abusing his office. Cheating in election, inviting foreign interference. For a purely personal gain. Whilejeopardising our National Security and the integrity of our elections. Some of you really think the president did something wrong but the fact is there is. None of your witnesses, none of your fa ct none of your witnesses, none of your fact witnesses were able to establish any evidenced of bribery, treason, high crimes and misdemeanours, not one single one and that is what it says has to be donein and that is what it says has to be done in the constitution. So again i believe the president of the united states. Ive been speaking to our north america reporter, anthony zurcher, about what we can expect to happen next. Once they approve it and it is expected to be approved in a Straight Party line vote, it sets up next week a vote on the fourth floor of the house of representatives where a simple majority on each of those articles of impeachment would move them over to the senate then we would get the senate trial where it isa would get the senate trial where it is a two thirds vote to remove donald trump from president , buckley said it is controlled by republicans but remember that the senate is controlled by republicans and not enough are considering breaking away to re m ove enough are considering breaking away to remove donald trump from office. What about the twine in the senate . Next year after the christmas break the trial. It might be a three week long trial, although the latest reports are that it wont have witnesses and it wont be like a trial you imagine on television with a court of law, we have different witnesses, but what you will see is the house impeachment management coming over and serving effectively as the prosecution and then donald trump will have his own lawyers mounting the defence. The entire senate chamber, 100 members, sits as though a jury and then they wrote at the end of it whether to remove the president. They vote. The end of it whether to remove the president. They vote. We heard from some those involved, but what about the American Public . L from some those involved, but what about the American Public . A opinion polls have been relatively sta ble opinion polls have been relatively stable and they are fixed on paths and lines and people who do not like the president are fine with impeaching him and removing him but people who like him want to keep him in office. Watching these hearings today, the debate is over whether he violated the criminal law, the republican say there is no criminal activity but the democrats say this is not a legal proceeding and what you are doing is an abuse of power and that is an impeachable offence. It is always about interpretation. Lets move something else, the us president relating to Greta Thunberg. He was very upset that Greta Thunberg had won the time person of the year, and he said this. Greta thunberg did not take it lying down and this is what she had to say. 3. 3 million followers what you make of this twitter spat between the 16 year old and the us president . Dont pick a fight with a teenager on social media, they are going to beat you on it. Greta thunberg has done this before with politicians like the brazilian president , who has insulted her, she has turned it into her twitter bio description in a mocking way. Donald trump is fixated with time person of the year, he used to put a pretend photo of him as the person of the year hanging on one of his golf clubs and because he is old school, it is a prestigious recognition so it got under his skin to see Greta Thunberg recognised like this. Donald trump when he gets on twitter he lashes out at anything that catches his eye and annoys him. Thanks to anthony there. Myanmars leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, has asked the uns top court at the hague to drop the genocide case against her countrys military regime. Ms suu kyi won a Nobel Peace Prize for her defiance of the military. Today she defended her generals by appearing to warn the judges that to intervene in myanamar to protect the rohingya could backfire and lead to more bloodshed. Heres some of what she had to say. Steps that generate suspicion and so doubts or create resentment between communities who have just begun to build a Fragile Foundation of trust could undermine reconciliation. Ending the ongoing internal Armed Conflict between the army and the Myanmar Defence services is of the utmost importance for our country but it is equally important to avoid any recognition of the 2016 2017 internal Armed Conflict in northern rack iron rakhine. The case has been brought by the gambia in west africa on behalf of a group of other muslim majority countries. We know myanmars military launched a crackdown against Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine State in 2017 its alleged that the operation included systematic rape, murder and torture. What we can be certain of is that thousands of rohingyas were killed and more than 700,000 fled to the coxs bazaar refugee camp in neighbouring bangladesh. Lawyers for the gambia said myanmars military leaders had sent a message that soldiers would not be held accountable for their crimes against the minority muslim rohingya. Heres the gambias lead attorney. How can anyone possibly expect it to hold itself accountable for genocidal acts against the rohingya when six of its top generals have all been accused of genocide by the Un Fact Finding Mission and recommended for criminal prosecution . Rohingya muslim refugees in bangladesh have been following Aung San Suu Kyis appearance at the International Court ofjustice in the hague. Heres one refugee who travelled to the netherlands in person hoping for some recognition of what she suffered. Translation two members of my family were killed and i saw my husband, brother killed before my eyes. We felt very sad to see Aung San Suu Kyi denying everything but the world is speaking for us so we hope we will get justice the world is speaking for us so we hope we will getjustice this time. Nick beake has been following proceedings from the hague. Aung san suu kyis word this week have been condemned by rohingya survivors and human Rights Groups and the judges will now consider her evidence and decide if the rohingya still living in her myanmar need protection from an ongoing genocide. We are still years away from any individual criminal prosecution. The myanmar generals are safe for now. We are still years away from any individual prosecution. Myanmars generals are safe for now, happy to watch from afar a Nobel Peace Prize winner defending the country against accusations of the worst possible crimes. The painting is 114,000 years old and appears to show a buffalo being hunted by part human, part animal creatures, holding spears or ropes. We can move on to the story of this man. This is john crilly. Hes the man who fought the London Bridge attacker usman khan with a fire extinguisher two weeks ago. He told the bbc that he was prepared to die to protect others. Mr crilly, an ex offender and friend ofjack merritt . One of the two cambridge graduates killed in the attack . Has been speaking exclusively to our Legal Correspondent clive coleman. Nearly two weeks ago, he was at a Prison Education event at fishmongers hall, attended by cambridge graduate saskia jones and his friend jack merritt, when he heard something odd. Was it a scream, or was it laughter, or girls laughing, screaming, sort of thing, i wasnt sure . A couple of seconds later, itjust got proper, a lot louder, and a lot more intense, and it was obvious something was kicking off. You came down the stairs, round the corner of the stairs, presumably. A couple of stairs down, on that flat landing, saskia was lying there. She was just basically sprawled across the stairs, her arms out, just lying there. As soon as i encountered her, i can clearly see usman isjust at the bottom of the stairs, on the corridor. Hes just stood there with his two knives. John screamed at him and his reply was chilling. He said something about killing, killing everyone. John looked for anything he could find, all the time he was aware that khan was wearing what looks like a suicide belt. Im just basically screaming at him, saying, blow it. Well, blow it, then, if youre going to blow it. Telling him, asking him, telling him to blow the belt . Yeah, like, calling his bluff, sort of thing, seeing if hes got the bottle to blow it. And he said, im waiting for the police. He said he was waiting for the police . He said he was waiting for the police, yeah. I was prepared to probably lose my life, yeah. Yeah, i was. John and others with makeshift weapons pursued khan onto the streets. He was struggling and he could not see what he was doing with it, so will one i was spraying him at someone else could take him from the side or behind. The spray distracted him, and we were able to get him. Within minutes the police arrived. It seems like ages before they shot him. They took their time to the point where i did scream to shoot him. You screamed shoot him . Yeah. Why . Just enclose he blew the belt. After the incident johns thoughts turned to jack merritt, the cambridge graduate who had changed his life and who along with saskia jones had been murdered. He made me feel comfortable, you made me feel even important, sort of thing, he listened and you could tell he was genuinely interested. What did he mean to you . Jack mount hope. Jack meant hope. People think of you as a hero. Do you think of yourself as a hero . A hero . No. Jack gave up his life. Hes. He would be my hero. A compelling interview. Donald trump says washington and beijing are getting very close to a big deal to end their trade war. But hes still expected to meet advisers, to discuss imposing tariffs of 15 on 156 billion dollars worth, of chinese imports. The new taxes are due to come into effect on sunday. Samira hussain is in new york. Why the meeting to discuss the ta riffs if why the meeting to discuss the tariffs if the deal is meant to be so tariffs if the deal is meant to be so close . The reason for the meeting is that the us president is trying to get a sense of where they are in terms of the negotiations because there are a new round of tariffs which are supposed to go into effect on sunday so the decision about that and whether those should go ahead rests with the us president donald trump. Mrtrump was rests with the us president donald trump. Mr trump was taking advice from his advisers and remember on his team he has two different camps, people who believe strongly that these tariffs should be put in place and others who believe there should bea90 and others who believe there should be a 90 day reprieve so they can get a bit closer to a deal. Then enter twitter and some us media reported that there is a phase one of the trade deal but people are waiting to see what kind of actual concrete details there are before talking about whether they have reached an agreement. Do you think it is filtering down to the American Public, this is something that is affecting people day to day, this insecurity about what might happen . This insecurity has a direct impact on american businesses and if you look at the way that businesses have been investing, they have been holding back on that, and that has a Ripple Effect throughout the us economy, and so, yes, this is having an impact on business, whether it has an impact on consumers, a lot of these new tariffs that are due to go into effect on sunday will certainly have that because these new tariffs would be hitting things like sneakers and smartphones and electronics, things which are very consumer focused. And all before christmas, of course. Thanks for joining us. 2 trillion dollars that s how much oil giant saudia aramco was valued at briefly during thursday trading. Its shares havejumped by 10 on the saudi stock exchange. Its comfortably the worlds most valuable publicly listed firm and that valuation would be enough to buy both google and amazon and still have 200bn left in the bank. Sameer hashmi is following this in dubai. So mine breached the 2 million saudia aramco breached the 2 trillion mark and this is a big boost for the company and the kingdom which is that this mark as a benchmark from the start. To give you a backdrop, even when it was launched, the crown prince of saudi arabia had said that there was a target of 2 trillion but they had to scale back the valuation after they saw investors were not willing to pay a premium and did not think saudia aramco was one of two trilling dollars and then when it was listed it was valued at 1. 7 trillion but on the first couple of days, the stocks shot up by 10 and thatis days, the stocks shot up by 10 and that is why it is now 2 trillion before going backjust below that figure. The challenge for saudia aramco is to maintain the momentum and the reason the stock is getting so and the reason the stock is getting so much support is that the company has made sure that locals, wealthy investors are has made sure that locals, wealthy investors a re investing has made sure that locals, wealthy investors are investing in the stock, they also have good support from their neighbours in the gulf like the uae who have pumped in billions of dollars, into saudia aramco, and the big question is, will the company look at listing internationally . It wont happen immediately but maybe after a year 01 immediately but maybe after a year orso, and immediately but maybe after a year or so, and remember they wanted to launch the ipo across the globe and they wanted to go to different investors and get money and if they drop those plans went investors in the west in europe and north america believed that they will not value the company at 1. 7 trillion and thatis the company at 1. 7 trillion and that is when they drop the plans of listing it internationally and started focusing only on regional players and local investors, but for 110w players and local investors, but for now they are feeling vindicated because clearly their objective was to touch the 2 trillion mark and they have done that but whether they can sustain the momentum is the big question going ahead. Online shopping has never been more popular but theres a growing frustration among customers, with the amount of packaging that seems to be wasted when they receive deliveries in the post. Now, theres a new initative, to make sure the box fits the size of the item. Emma simpson has been taking a closer look. Its the time of year when the online deliveries are coming thick and fast. How many of us have had this, an online purchase in an oversized box . It drives us mad, and its bad for the environment. All this wasted space means more delivery vans in our towns and cities, and the bigger the parcel, the bigger the cost for retailers. So what can be done . Weve come to france to see a new machine that can produce a box to fit the product. Well, this machine can take a standard sheet of cardboard and can make 10 million different varieties of box, to make sure that we have no wasted space at all around the product that somebodys trying to send in the post to a customer. So, lets put it to the test. Ive got my christmas decoration, and a few other items. Stefan, press the button. Cuddly toy. The item is scanned to take the exact dimensions. Meanwhile, the box is being assembled, the cardboard creased and then folded around the product. It can make and pack up to 1,000 boxes every hour. Hey here it is. Look at that. Its a game changer, because already the uk is the biggest e Commerce Market in europe. 18 of what we buy goes online, so imagine if that doubles. This machine isnt in operationjust yet, but it is one way our everyday Online Purchases could eventually be made to fit the box. Emma simpson, bbc news. The first vote in the impeachment process against President Trump is expected late today. The Housejudiciary Committee is holding its final debate on the two articles of impeachment. A dangerous operation is underway in new zealand to retrieve eight bodies from the volcano that erupted on monday. Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstien reaches a 25 Million Dollar deal to pay women who accused him of sexual abuse. But he wont have to admit wrongdoing. The polls close shortly in the uk general election. We have a special programme coming up in half an hour with huw edwards. The disgraced Film Producer Harvey Weinstein has reached a possible settlement worth 25 million settlement with dozens of women who have accused him of Sexual Misconduct. About 30 actresses and ex employees would share the pay out in the deal. The 67 year old has denied Sexual Misconduct allegations by more than 70 women, which started coming out after a New York Times story in october 2017, which detailed decades of allegations. Among the most high profile accusers were rose mcgowan and ashleyjudd. Entertainment journalist caroline frost has more on the possible deal. The problem is and the detail. For a start, more significantly, Harvey Weinstein will admit no culpability at all. He will not be paying the money himself, it will come from a big insurance port which will cover legal fees and board big insurance port which will cover legalfees and Board Members including his brother bob and the 110w including his brother bob and the now disbanded weinstein company. For the deal to go ahead though, all the parties have to sign off, and the court needs to approve it. It would resolve almost every misconduct lawsuit brought against Harvey Weinstein since 2017 and insulate Company Directors from future liability. For these reasons, and the ones we just heard from caroline frost, many of weinsteins accusers are unhappy. For example, the model and actor zoe brock, who accused weinstein of Sexual Misconduct in a hotel in 1997. The entire process to me has been a farce. I think the settlement is a joke, and it signifies an absolutely broken system. Im devastated by it. Im appalled by it. Im sickened by it. And i feel defeated im appalled by it. Im sickened by it. And ifeel defeated and really angry about it. This has never been about the money for me. Theres no amount of money that can justify anything that he did, or that the people who helped him do. Even if that was 115 billion that was coming from harveys pocket, that would be something, because he would be being held fiscally accountable for what held fiscally accountable for what he did. All this is happening in the civil courts. But Harvey Weinstein faces a separate criminal trial next month on rape and Sexual Assault charges, which he denies. Heres his lawyer. I would like to remind everyone that mr weinstein has a right to a fair trial. He is believed to be innocent until Proven Guilty under the laws of those great country. He has the right to cross examine and question his accusers. He has a right to ask questions, he has a right, through his lawyers, to cross examine the stories that detail, which we intend to do, and which we have a right to do. For more lets hear from nada tawfik whos in new york. This is tentative, it has to be approved, and already some attorneys for some of the women have come out and said, that they dont believe this is the best deal that could have been reached. But, for example, some other runners are saying that because of these women dont really have an avenue to go through criminal court or other civil cases, because they have reached the statute of limitations, that they couldnt really be hot if they dont join this lawsuit in this case, because, for example, because he is not having to pay any money in this case, and his insurers are taking ca re of case, and his insurers are taking care of it, this settlement will really exclude his insurers from future cases, and so Harvey Weinstein, who is in dire financial straits, could basically be sued in the future but dont never have to pay out, even if his accusers are successful in those losses. Many women are feeling like this is a bit ofa women are feeling like this is a bit of a slap in the face to them, that they are being forced into a deal thatis they are being forced into a deal that is not perfect, and it is essentially business as usual for Harvey Weinstein, because part of the New York Times investigation and a passport that he had been reaching settle m e nts a passport that he had been reaching settlements with women who had accused of everything from Sexual Misconduct to rip, ping them out and keeping them silent, and then going on with his life. Many people say, here it is a game, Harvey Weinstein not having to admit guilt, and not being hit financially. We had a little different his lawyer about the criminal case. Can you give us any more details on what might happen there . It is really important for people to understand this is very separate from the criminal proceeding. It is not going to affect it at all. That criminal case are set to start injanuary affect it at all. That criminal case are set to start in january the affect it at all. That criminal case are set to start injanuary the site stop Harvey Weinstein is facing very serious accounts of their of rape and a forcible sexual act by two different women. So, he will have to not only face, but possibly some other accusers. We for other accusers will face trial. Separate to that, there is a civil settlement doesnt include many of the prominent hollywood actresses. It is most women who worked at the weinstein company, and actresses who we re weinstein company, and actresses who were trying to build their career, but there are two notable women, as you mention, rose mcgowan and ashley judd, who from the very get go said they were never part of the settlement. They refuse to talk about settlements, and said they would sue Harvey Weinstein separately. Thereve been violent protests in india against a proposed law that would fast track citizenship for immigrants from neighbouring countries unless theyre muslim. Troops have been deployed in parts of North Eastern india after thousands of people defied cu rfews to protest against the new citizenship bill. In the city of guwahati, in assam state, hundreds of protesters set fire to vehicles and buildings. Many claim they will be overrun by migrants from bangladesh. At least two protesters have died in clashes with the security forces. The new law, called the citizenship amendment bill, offers amnesty to non muslim Illegal Immigrants from three countries pakistan, bangladesh and afghanistan. Critics say the bill is discriminatory and a move by the governing hindu nationalist bjp party to marginalise the countrys 200 million muslims. There is a large number of Violent Attacks going on against the community all over the world. This will put them further vulnerable spot. The bill passed in the upper house of parliament on wednesday night and is expected to be signed off by president modi. The government says it will give sanctuary to people fleeing religious persecution. Translation this is not meant to ta ke translation this is not meant to take away anyones rights, it is to gather people right. There is a difference between refugee and an infiltrator. Critics say the new citizenship law sends out a negative signal to the countrys 200 million strong muslim population. You are catering to your hindu base by telling them that this country is only for hindus, but the Worlds Largest democracy had a big heart when it could accommodate people. Right now, we are coming across to the world as a petty civilisation. That is not what india did for. Pratisha ghildeeal in delhi explains why different parts of the country are protesting against the controversial bill for different reasons. In the north east, the main concern is that the law will allow eagle scouts ranked some Illegal Migrants to gain indian citizenship and settled there. Illegal migration from the neighbouring bangladesh has been a huge concern for decades, so people feel that if this is legalised, if they are allowed to gain citizenship, then their ethnic and cultural identity will be under threat. Separately, the other protests that are going on or about the nature of the belt up exclusive mixes. People say that to give citizenship on the basis of religion is not something that india stands for. And yet was founded on a secular values, where people of all religions and all identities are welcome, so why as the government excluding muslims from these . The governments defence as that they are actually trying to help persecuted minorities from the three islamic countries of pakistan, after gun and bangladesh, ant and the governments view, muslims are not being persecuted there because they are muslim majority countries. That isa are muslim majority countries. That is a governments view, ijust like we saw in that report, the countrys minister making a very impassioned speech in the parliament think this is not agains indias muslims, this is not agains indias muslims, this is not agains indias muslims, this is not about. This is about people coming to seek refuge from persecution, and that is what it is all about. The deepest point on continental earth has been identified in east antarctica, under denman glacier. This ice filled canyon reaches 3. 5km below sea level. The discovery is illustrated in this new map of the white continent that reveals the shape of the bedrock under the ice sheet in unprecedented detail. Heres our science correspondentjonathan amos. Denman glacier is one of these are back at their glaciers and in the east of antarctica. It is about 20 kilometres wide, about 120 kilometres wide, about 120 kilometres long. To be clear, the ca nyon kilometres long. To be clear, the canyon in which it sits, there are longer, there are wider canyons in the world, you just have to think of the world, you just have to think of the grand canyon in the united states, which is very close to me here in california. That is 500 kilometres long. But none of these other canyons around the globe reach into the earth and at the same way as denman glacier does. It is going down 3500 metres, at its base. And really, you have to go to Ocean Trenches on the margins of the continents to find something that is deeper still. If you go to the western pacific, to the mariana trench, there you will find a trend that goes down to just shy of 11 kilometres. But denman is interesting, because it is shovelling all those eyes from the east of antarctica out towards the ocean. What they have found in this new study is that the bed of the glacier actually stops back towards land slightly, and that is a geometry that scientists dont like to see, because it enables warm ocean water to get out the glacier and to eat away at it more easily thanit and to eat away at it more easily than it would otherwise be able to do. This is a glacier, because of its death, because of the amount of ice that it holds, that they are going to have to keep a very close watch on in the coming centuries. Kathy pert has this report. This was a double decker bus, but after hitting a railway bridge, most of the upper section was left completely crushed. One witness describing it like a tin opener had ripped off the roof. Eight people were injured, two men seriously. I was sitting at the back of the top deck. I was just reading my phone. There was a loud noise, i was thrown forward. I hit my head on the seat in front, and next thing i know, there isjust a bridge halfway through the bus. We had to crawl out of the bus, and it was seeing the section where i usually sat was completely crushed was just sort of. The realisation of what couldve happened was pretty bad. The bus was travelling from Swansea University singleton campus to another campus, but went off its normal route because of a road closure. People working nearby ran towards the scene when they heard the noise of the impact on the bridge. It was clear something terrible was happening, and some of my colleagues ran up this morning before any response vehicles turned up. I saw a couple of distressed passengers. As the military prepared, family and friends of some of the victims gathered on the boat ramp in the nearby town of whakatane for a blessing service. This video was taken by the rnz reporter katie scotcher. The mission is expected to take several hours, and has gone ahead in spite of warnings about the risk of another eruption. Heres the new Zealand Police Deputy Commissioner speaking earlier. Of course im bored it. I would be inhuman ifi of course im bored it. I would be inhuman if i did not worry. Of course, im going to worry tonight, andi course, im going to worry tonight, and i hope that we all pray for those that are going to put themselves in harms way tomorrow in themselves in harms way tomorrow in the interest of doing the right thing and recovering those bodies for the families. I have to emphasise that the risk is not gone. The risk remains present. The white island volcano, also known by its maori name whakaari, erupted on monday afternoon. Dozens of people were sightseeing on the island at the time. Eight so far are confirmed dead. Among them, berend and matthew hollander, 16 and 13 year old brothers from sydney, who died in hospital. Their parents are among the eight who remain missing. For days, the police have said a Recovery Mission would be too dangerous. Heres the mayor of whakatane. I need to make it clear that while we fully appreciate the need for the safety of any Recovery Team going to whakaari to safety of any Recovery Team going to wha kaari to retrieve safety of any Recovery Team going to whakaari to retrieve our loved ones we are now living with a growing sense of desperation to bring home those who we know are there, and those who we know are there, and those we love. The threat of another volcano has not reduced in fact its risen. Gns science, a government funded science agency, has predicted the risk of another eruption in the next 2a hours is at 50 to 60 . This is a Risk Assessment map issued by gns as you can see the red area has been deemed a no go zone for gns staff. And this was the same map on december 2nd. Heres the agencys head of volcanology. This is the most out of that whakaari has this is the most out of that wha kaari has been this is the most out of that whakaari has been since 2016, probably go by quite a few years as well. It is really a high level of unrest. 20 people remain in intensive care in new zealand hospitals. In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, the small hospital at whakatane was overrun with burns victims. Staff there have described using every resource available to care for the injured to the point of sending people out to buy more clingfilm to seal the burns. What i experienced l three days was devastating. At the heart of a hospital are a people. They all goes to the needs of our community and burnt beyond what was anyones expectation. For many of us, it feels so real. Everyone deals with tragic event in their own way, and many of us are still coming to terms with what happened. Our thoughts are with what happened. Our thoughts are with the victims, who remain in hospital, those that sadly didnt survive, and their families and theirfriends. Many of those visiting the island were from australia. Some of the injured have begun to return home on special air ambulance flights, so they can be treated at burns units in australia you can see here one of the victims being loaded into a plane. The australian prime minister, scott morrison, has tweeted. The bbcs Shaimaa Khalil is in wha katane. The recovery operation started at first light here, and the aim of the military personnel going and if there is to go in, recover those bodies, and get out as soon as they can. Get those bodies on the military vessel, and get back to the mainland. We understand that some family members have been taken on a boat to get as close as they can at a safe distance from the island to find out what is happening in the operation. It still remains a very precarious operation, in a precarious operation, in a precarious mission. It is volcanic activity on the island. We understand that there is a real risk ofan understand that there is a real risk of an eruption, toxic gases, ash, all of these factors still in place. The Police Deputy commissioner said that a lot has to go right for the people on the island for this mission to be successful, and a lot of that is beyond anybodys control, because it has to do with environmental factors, because it has to do with environmentalfactors, and because it has to do with environmental factors, and of because it has to do with environmentalfactors, and of course the activity of the volcano. We know that the defence rescue will be supported by people in helicopters close to the island, but also people on shore, including scientists who are going to be looking at real time activity of the volcano to make sure that the rescuers themselves are safe, and that they are able to pull out should anything happen. There has been a mounting pressure on the police and authorities to get this done. Families have been growing frustrated from the lack of activity, and what they saw as the authorities being slow to get to the bodies back. This is a risky mission, risky as it is, the authorities are now seeing it is very much in place. All eyes now on an island in what has become a controversial, a highly anticipated, but also a dangerous recovery operation.
