Is named person of the year, by time magazine. Its the last day of the uks Election Campaign. Polls open at 7am on thursday morning. There is a great deal at stake not just who forms the next government but whether brexit happens on january 31. If Boris Johnson gets a majority that will happen if he doesnt, who knows . As youd imagine the Party Leaders have been working hard. Borisjohnson began by helping with milk delivery part of which was interupted by one of his aides swearing at a journalist on live tv. The Prime Minister then said to the journalist ill be with you in a second. But he wasnt he didnt do the interview. Amongst all that, the Prime Minister continued to push his message that hes the man to deliver brexit. Jeremy corbyns message is that a vote for labour is a vote for hope. Here he is in middlesbrough in the north east of england. The north east is traditonal a labour stronghold, but polls suggest the tories brexit message is making in roads. Well see. The liberal democrat leaderjo swinson has been focusing her efforts on predominantly remain supporting seats in the south of england and in london. And in scotland, Nicola Sturgeon from the snp made her pitch in edinburgh. Boris johnson started the day in leeds, before travelling south to derby, on to south wales and across the country to essex his target appears to be areas which largely voted for brexit. This is the perfect metaphor for what we are going to do in a run up, if we can get a working majority, we have a deal, we are ready to go, you saw how easy it is. We put it it in the oven, take it out, there it is, get brexit done. Jeremy corbyn has focussed on shoring up the labour vote. He started in scotland before heading to middlesborough, sheffield and bedford. I have come here with a message of hope. A message of hope for this country of what this manifesto and what our party represents. Because what we have had for the past 9 years has been cuts in public services, cuts in our National Health service, and frozen wages, frozen Public Sector wages, and many people have lost theirjobs. The liberal democrats have made their campaign about brexit. Jo swinson spent the day targeting seats in the south east of england and london where the majority want to remain in the eu. People out there who are thinking about how best they can stop borisjohnson getting his majority, how they can vote to stop brexit, liberal democrats are well placed to take seats from the conservatives in so many areas. And the Scottish National partys leader Nicola Sturgeon has been targetting closely contested constituencies. If people do not want to have further cuts to public services, if we dont want to be dragged out of europe against our will and to have borisjohnson as Prime Minister, then vote snp to make sure we take our future into our own hands and build a Better Future for scotland. Sean curran is in westminster. When of the curiosities as we thought this would be a brexit only Election Campaign. It is not really worked out that way. No. Boris johnson, one called the selection, made very clear that he wanted it to be about brexit and was calling it because he was so frustrated with the situation in parliament. But of course, just because the governing party wa nts course, just because the governing party wants the election to be about something, it doesnt mean the opposition parties will follow suit and they have got their own agendas and they have got their own agendas and their own policies. Of course, it doesnt necessarily mean that the voters will decide that that is the number one issue as well. The electorate get to choose which issues they think are important, and up to date, and this into a campaign where we see this frantic movement around the country, what we have seen is the parties reinforcing their key messages, so yes, for borisjohnson, it their key messages, so yes, for Boris Johnson, it is their key messages, so yes, for borisjohnson, it is brexit. But we saw there for the other parties, they are focusing on their key messages, not simply moving onto his territory. Dont go anywhere. Lets look at the key messages from the parties. For Boris Johnson thats getting brexit done. Hes promising the uk will leave the eu onjanuary 31. And that the uk and eu will sign a new trade deal by 2021. Hell need a majority to do that. Our economy is being held back at the moment by the drag anchor of our broken parliament. And people cannot make decisions and businesses cannot invest and theres about £150 billion worth of Foreign Direct Investment that will come into this country as soon as we get brexit done and get our deal over the line, and we can get brexit done. Because we have a deal. It is ready to go. As i said before, it is oven ready. Labour says itll renegotiate the brexit deal within three months and hold a new referendum on that deal in six months. The liberal democrats have gone further they say theyll stop brexit immediately. We are an internationalist party, a liberal party, we recognise that this is a fight for the soul of our country. Are we open or closed . Are we generous or selfish . Do we reach out and work with others or do we pull up the drawbridge . And whether it is guaranteeing our prosperity or our security, or tackling the climate emergency, we know we can do that so much better by working with our closest neighbours. The snp also supports a second referendum, or stopping brexit if a no deal brexit is inevitable. On non brexit issues, labour is pledged to nationalise a number of public services, including rail and broadband internet. Its also pledged £400 billion for infrastructure, 100,000 new Council Houses every year, and funding boosts for schools and hospitals. The nhs in particular became a Huge Campaign issue for labour. We have an nhs crisis all over the country. We are 40,000 nurse vacancies, we have doctor vacancies, we have all kinds of Specialist Services that are not properly funded. We have a maintenance problem in many of our hospitals and we have 10 billion in privatisation that is happening. 0ur nhs needs money and it needs a government that is prepared to support it. The conservatives have also promised more funding for the nhs pledging 50,000 nurses, although as we now know 19,000 of those will be existing staff who otherwise may have left. The party is also promising an extra 20,000 Police Officers thats fewer than the number cut by the conservatives in the last nine years. So both of the major parties have made large spending promises. Heres pauljohnson from the institute for fiscal studies. We know that the conservatives over the last two electoral cycles have ended up spending and borrowing a lot more than they said they would in their manifesto. I think that will happen again because they are suggesting nothing in the way of additional spending this time around. Beyond what is already announced. Labour has an enormous manifesto, vast spending increases in tax increases which probably cannot be delivered within a single parliament. Sean is in westminster. We had the Prime Minister talking about and have them ready brexit deal. I have been quite surprised how little scrutiny there has been of the detail within that deal. Ive been ready. Has that surprise you . Its been quite odd really. This election was called by Boris Johnson because he had brought the deal back that he negotiated with the eu, he put forward a bill to parliament, it cleared the first pick parliament your hurdle, but then because mps would not agree to then because mps would not agree to the Prime Minister timetable, he wa nted the Prime Minister timetable, he wanted to push it through du the comments at quite a fast rate, because of that he posse legislation. Since then there is been very little debate. Push it through the house of commons. Yet, if mrjohnson is the Prime Minister inafew if mrjohnson is the Prime Minister in a few days time, we expect that bill will once again to be on the floor the commons and it will be preoccupied everybody for the next few weeks. Of course, Jeremy Corbyn has said that he would renegotiate the deal and went a new completely new deal and get we are really not had a forensic examination of what has been negotiated over the past five weeks. Plenty of people watching us in the uk and around the world thinking when we find out which way this is gone. What is the chronology of the night . 0k, which way this is gone. What is the chronology of the night . Ok, so voting starts at seven oclock tomorrow morning. The polls will close at ten oclock. The bbc and other broadcasters will have an exit poll soon after the polls are closed which will be an indication of how we think things will go. Then we will start to get the first results in and we should know by the early hours are friday morning who will be the next Prime Minister. Thank you. There will be copy has a coverage all over bbc. If you are voting and still want to brush up on the policies, summaries on all of them Available Online from the bbc. Stay with us on 0utside source still to come. Time magainze has named Greta Thunberg as its person of the year atjust 16. The youngest person to ever have received this accolade. The post office has agreed to pay more than 57 Million Pounds to settle a dispute with former subpostmasters and postmistresses, who were wrongly accused of fraud and false accounting. It brings to an end a series of court cases about a computer system, which was used to manage local post office finances. Simon gompertz explains the background to the case. It all goes back to the beginning of the century, the year 2000, when a new system called horizon was brought in to manage the finances of the local post offices, and shortfalls began to appear in their money day after day. The question i suppose is how much those individual postmasters and postmistresses are going to get and money has to be taken off of the total for the legal fees, for a firm which backs litigation which gets its share but you can still see individuals getting tens of thousands and perhaps more where they were worst affected. This is 0utside source live from the bbc newsroom. 0ur lead story is . Its the last day of campaigning for tomorrows uk general election, and all the Party Leaders have been out hoping to win over voters. The Indian Parliament has given its final approval to a bill making it easier for refugees to claim citizenship, but only if they are non muslims. The government say this will help minorities fleeing neighbouring countries, but critics have argued the hindu nationalist government is marginalising muslims. Spains acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanches says hes accepted a mandate from the king to try and form a government, and will reach out to other parties. The socialists have been scrambling to secure support since winning the november election without enough seats to govern on their own. And an all electric seaplane has taken to the skies in canada. The short test flight, involved a six passenger aircraft, fitted with an electric motor. It can only fly about 160 kilometres, but the operator said, it was a step towards building the worlds first, all electric commercial fleet. That story popular on bbc. Com. Aung san suu kyi is de facto leader of myanmar, shes a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and today she has defended her country against accusations of genocide. This was at the International Court ofjustice in the hague. The case has been brought by the gambia in west africa on behalf of a group of other must win majority countries. On behalf of a group of other muslim majority countries. We know myanmars military launched a crackdown against Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine State in 2017 its alleged that the operation included systematic rape, murder and torture. What we can be certain of is that thousands of rohingyas were killed and more than 700,000 fled to neighbouring bangladesh. Ever since, myanmar has insisted it was acting against violent militants and Aung San Suu Kyi today maintained that position today but conceded Excessive Force may have been used. Heres some of her testimony. Mr president , it cannot be ruled out that this force was used by the members of the defence services, in some cases, in disregard of International Humanitarian law. Or that they did not distinguish clearly enough between our fighters and civilians. Next this is an activist and former political prisoner in myanmar who was listening in court. It is really unbelievable in our lifetime we are seeing a Nobel Laureate who we used to look up to, who we respect a lot, taking a side with the military and defending the militarys crimes and denying our suffering, of the victims. The bbcs Anna Holligan has been talking to other activists outside the court. These rohingya fear that families are being erased from Rakhine State. They are urging the judges to agree to the gambia request for emergency measures to protect the 600,000 rohingya people that that remain in myanmar. The women who many once regarded as their greatest hopes stood in court and urge thejudges not to intervene and risk aggravating what Aung San Suu Kyi described as a complex conflict. Rebcecca henschke is in the hague. Basically, she said that the country did not have genocidal intent because they are intent now on trying to improve the lives of muslims in the Rakhine State with education and health. She also said that with the case that gambia presented yesterday, this devastating testimony of human rights abuses, was inaccurate and an incomplete picture of a very complex situation she said. She basically gave the court a History Lesson and said what was happening there was the military carrying out a counterinsurgency operation against militants who had attacked police in the area. She did admit as we heard in that clip quite a significant admission from her that maybe in that operation, there had been human rights abuse, by rogue soldiers, but she told the court that they would be dealt with within the militarys own Justice System and there was no need for the International Community to get involved. In fact, she said it would be harmful to solving this conflict. Rebecca, from what we understand, the role of this court has what powers does it have when we get to the end of this process . Fairly limited powers, but what is really happening is an extraordinary situation where you see Aung San Suu Kyi having to stand before the world court and effectively trying just court and effectively trying to justify these crimes that gambia laid out for three hours. What the gambia is asking the court to do is to put provisional measures in place, basically stop measures to say that myanmar cannot carry out any more violence against the rohingya community, they say they need to be far reaching in measure in terms of the fact that myanmar will have to report to the court in the coming months to show that no violence has taken place. They also want myanmar to commit to not destroying any evidence that may be used in a further genocide case that could take place in the International Criminal court where you would see members of the military put on trial. This is something the United Nations independent Fact Finding Team did call for, they said the crime that had been committed there were significant enough that there should be a criminal charge. But this court is quite limited in what it can decide. But it may lead to further economic sanctions if it is found guilty in the same light of what we have seen from the United States this week. Us safety regulators predicted a high chance of future accidents involving the boeing 737 max aircraft but failed to ground the planes until after a second fatal crash. The federal Aviation Authority has been giving testimony in a congressional hearing today. As this document shows, after the first crash in october last year, faa analysts predicted there could be as many as 15 more fatal accidents if the planes software wasnt fixed. Michelle fleury in new york has been following the hearings. All of which makes the question why was this not flagged as a problem earlier . This was something that came up again and again and the hearing this morning and which for the first time we saw the new faa head Stephen Dixon come hejoined in august, he wasnt there when the crashes occurred but obviously it is 110w crashes occurred but obviously it is now answerable for the actions of the us regulator. And we heard from the us regulator. And we heard from the head of the committee come saying that the faa rolled the dice on safety and when he was asked to address why this report, the own internal report from the faa suggesting that more crashes could occui over suggesting that more crashes could occur over the following few decades in the wake of the first crash, why they didnt ground the plane then, his response was that obviously, the result was not satisfactory. That didnt please lawmakers who wanted him to go further, and eventually under pressure, mr dixon did admit their mistakes were made by the faa. Thank you. Now to washington. Surprising absolutely nobody, the Us Federal Reserve held Interest Rates steady today. The fed also gave its forecast for the us economy going forwards, Samira Hussain is outside the Federal Reserve in washington. If we extracted the Interest Rates to stay put, leslie bet the one side. Tell me about the economy. What does this say about that . One of the reasons why you saw the fed didnt raise Interest Rates is because he said look, if you look at the Labour Market in the United States, it is still a pretty strong. We are seeing that it continues to be adding jobs monthly to the us economy. If you look at the way that households are spreading, how much people are spending in the us economy, that is also increasing. That is really good. Part of the reason why he said that we would not have any rate changes. That said, there were some places in the economy where the fed would like to see improvement, one would be business investment. You dont see businesses putting money into their businesses putting money into their businesses to try and grow them. That is suggesting uncertainty and holding them back. The other area where the economy isnt doing is what is exports. Exports are weaker and of course, a lot of the talk was about trade in the kinds of trade agreements and what that impact will have on the us economy. Unsurprisingly, it was made clear that the trade agreement with china was heartily help to ease some of that uncertainty. Thank you. Airlines are on course for a steeper than expected fall in profits this year according to the industrys trade body, iata. It says, global trade wars have hit the sector leading to a fall in earnings. But, despite a 5 fall in anticipated profits airlines are still expected to rake in almost 26 billion dollars. Heres the iata director general. We are making very little profit per passenger, 5 per passenger, this means that this industry is profitable, but fragile. We are over exposed to many risks, including economic and financial risk. It is also revealing also the strong competition that exists in our sector. And which has led to a significant reduction in airfares. Do you believe that since 1999, the airfares have been reduced by 62 in real terms . 62 so now it is possible to travel for everybody. Greta thunberg has been named time magazines person of the year. At 16, shes the youngest person to receive this accolode and its being going for over 90 years. Heres Times International editor on the decision. We felt greta was the most compelling voice on the most important issue facing the planet today, which is Climate Change. 2019 has been the year when the Climate Crisis really entered the mainstream from the sidelines. And we feel like her influence, the movement she created, has a lot to do with that. She has managed to do something i think that environmentalists, activists, politicians and celebrities have been trying to do, which is to focus clarity on this point on what is happening to the planet and what we need to be doing to prevent it. As you can imagine, shes pleased. Fridays for future was a Schools Movement that Greta Thunberg started to demand climate action. Shes making similar demands in madrid at the cop25 climate conference. Without seeing the full picture, we will not solve this crisis. Finding Holistic Solutions is what the cop should be all about. But instead, it seems to have turned into some kind of opportunity for countries to negotiate loopholes and to avoid raising their ambition. Applause. Countries are finding clever ways around having to take real action. Like double counting Emission Reductions and moving their emissions overseas. And walking back on their promises to increase ambition. Refusing to pay for solutions or loss of damage. This has to stop. Labour will be holding their final Campaign Event in the next few minutes. Lets listen to whatJeremy Corbyn said. More broadly in the next half an hour of the programme we will continue to look across the issues of trust that it come up during this campaign and this information online. Let me see that make theirJeremy Corbyn speaking. Lets listen and see what he has to say. He said earlier a bow for labour is a vote for hope. We will get into that and all the other parties in a few minutes time. Socialism is about hope, about inclusion, about prosperity for all, but also about. Hello there and good evening. Looks like there is very unsettled weather will continue into tomorrow. At least it is not as when he is a west early on in the week. But we have seen a lot of showers going in today. Snow over the higher ground, no showers beginning to fade away. Early on we had some lovely sunset pictures. There is more cloud looming. You can see clearly here on the satellite picture. This cloud will bring us a different look to the weather for tomorrow. Ahead will bring us a different look to the weatherfor tomorrow. Ahead of that we have no showers around. Becoming fewer through this evening. We will see many parts of england and wales and Northern Ireland becoming dry. Showers will linger for longer in scotland, again there will be snow over the high ground. A threat of some icy patches as well. They touch of frost for scotland, northern and eastern parts of england and parts of the midlands as well or we have the clear skies for longer, and Northern Ireland the wales in the software should see temperatures recovering from a more cloud come again. We saw it early on. That cloud courtesy of these weather fronts here will bring some outbreaks of rain and the winds will pick upa outbreaks of rain and the winds will pick up a little bit as well. A dry start from maurice in areas of the uk. But it will cloud over. We have the objects of rain in the west pushing northwards and eastward into the colder air but a bit of snow, 400 metres, likewise over the hills of scotland, quite cold here. He gets milder across south wales in the southwest of england as that more persistent rain moves to do. There will be some stronger winds here. A lot of showers come again. Those will dominate heading into the evening. Following on from that weather front which takes the more persistent rain away from recent areas of england, but you can see it is still lingering in the north of scotland, some are bricks of rain here, expected to be rained at this stage, not as cold though in scotla nd stage, not as cold though in scotland by friday. We have blustery winds elsewhere across the uk, sunshine, showers, mainly for western parts of england and wales and Northern Ireland were temperatures will be 8 degrees comest possibly double figures, more southern parts of england and wales locked up into the weekend, we salute that two area of rain through the friday evening. At school that area of rain. Then low pressure to the east which will shape her with her. Most of the showers over the weekend will be across the northern half of the uk, some snow over the hills, blustery winds further south, some sunshine and staying on the chilly side. Hello, im ros atkins, this is 0utside source. A frantic last day of campaigning as britains main Party Leaders scramble to win over voters in thursdays general election. We have a fantastic agenda for this country. We can get brexit done. We are ready to go. Electing a government that you can trust. Elect a government that will eliminate child poverty. Well look at how brexit has divided the country along party lines, and the issue of trust in our politicians. Nobel peace peace prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi, defends myanmar against accusations of genocide. And the European Union has unveiled ambitious Climate Change targets well take a look throughout this campaign, the issue of whether we can trust politicians has been central. More so than ever, social media has helped to amplify every message including those that are misleading or straight out untrue. These are some high profile examples. This is borisjohnson in september promising 40 new hospitals in a video posted on twitter. I have been at North Manchester this morning and i have been launching our programme with to before built for new hospitals. This simply isnt true. Bbc reality check found that six hospitals where Building Work this simply isnt true. Bbc reality check found that six hospitals where Building Work will definitely happen are existing nhs hospitals theyre not new ones. And no Building Work has begun on them yet. 34 other hospitals are being considered for construction in the next ten years but there are no guarantees that that will happen. Despite this, borisjohnson has continued to talk about 40 hospitals. Hes aware that these claims have been shown to be false, but has kept doing this. In fact he did it again a short while ago at a rally. We can move on with the incredible progress that we have made in the past 130 days. How many new hospitals are going to build . 40. The News Organisation tortoise has looked at a range of political ads and found that the conservatives have promoted Incorrect Information more than any other party. Yesterday, the Non Profit Organisation first draft published a study of all paid for political ads on facebook in the first 4 days of december. 88 of conservatives most widely promoted ads had been flagged by Fact Checking operations as not correct or not entirely correct. No misleading claims were found in labour ads in the period they looked at. The lib dems were found to have repeatedly used graphs to back up their claims with no source on the data provided. On that these are bar charts suggesting the lib dems are polling first in particular seats when thats far from clear cut. In very small print below you can see the source is a single day s polling. Some labour claims have been questioned too. Earlier this month the party released a dossier which claimed the conservatives failure to curb rising bills has cost families almost £6,000 a year since 2010. But as bbc reality check points out thats not the whole picture because its based on one family type its not representative of everyone. Weve used the bbcs Reality Check Team a lot during this election. Lets get more from chris morris one of its most experienced correspondents whos been following the campaign. Another issue is the pace of modern media. The fact that you can say live on air, on tv or radio, you can Say Something which isnt really correct, but the fact check it can ta ke correct, but the fact check it can take a few minutes or a few hours its complicated in the conversation is moved on. Then of course, there are things or you have given those exa m ples of are things or you have given those examples of claims or numbers that have been used again and again during the selection and it is notable that in some cases, even though there have been pretty comprehensive take downs by bbc checks and politics ofjust to use them. And the Prime Minister himself is made a particular thing of doubling down on certain things, even when the evidence really does not stack up. Most notably, the issue of him saying that there will be no checks on trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland after brexit, even though that is precisely what internal government documents and is on brexit Withdrawal Agreement say there will be. You can then look at labour and Jeremy Corbyn, his message that the tories are going to put the nhs up for sale. But look at the documents to prove it, that is not what they say. They do not talk about whole skill privatisation of the nhs. We are atan skill privatisation of the nhs. We are at an age where politicians feel they can get away with things and communicate much more directly with voters tha n communicate much more directly with voters than perhaps they could before and i think voters are smart enough sometimes to work this out. But if we get to a primer politicians do not care whether something is true or not, then that does get pretty corrosive for the state of our democracy. Repeatedly saying things that we know arent true which have been proven to be not true but he keeps saying them and what is fascinating is the significant number of his supporters realise that its not true but do not mind and continue to support him. Finding the degree to which they respond to misinformation by they respond to misinformation by the parties throughout this campaign. The issue of scrutiny also has been a big one in this election. Jeremy presents on radio 2 the most popular station in the country. This is from earlier. Yesterday afternoon, we are told by the Prime Minister that he was pulling out and it was going to happen. That means that millions of radio two listeners notably get the chance to listen to the Prime Minister being scrutinised by his policies, his character and his plans for the future on this programme. And remember borisjohnson said this about being interviewed by the bbcs andrew neil. Lam i am perfectly happy to do that. I am happy to do any interview with andrew neel on the bbc. The interviews did not happen and bearin the interviews did not happen and bear in mind, the bbc interviews for a long standing convention in british democracy during election periods. This time he has opted out. He has many other but this time, Boris Johnson opted out. He has done many other appearances on the bbc and other media. This week weve had a case study of how technology is ripping apart how we consume information where we source it and how we evaluate it. Youll know this picture of a young boy sleeping on a hospital floor it caused a huge furore. The Yorkshire Post first ran the story. Its editorjames mitchinson tweeted that hes also published an open letter to one reader who sent a letter of complaint after reading a Facebook Post that claimed to have first hand evidence that the picture deliberately misrepresented what had happened. He wrote of the author of the Facebook Post but many do trust what they read on facebook. Or perhaps care less about whether its true and more about whether it reinforces their beliefs. Now, one person whos guided us through the digital side of this Election Campaign is Marianna Spring from bbc trending. Shes highlighted the importance of facebook pages. Heres are two examples from them. This is one meme promoting tactical voting to defeat Boris Johnson. This is from a brexit page with a verdict on one of the debates. Get brexit undone it says to get people to tactically vote. Marianna spring, bbc trending. How do we assess the influence of the digital experience . We have noticed there certain stages that are reoccurring that keep coming up. 0ne are reoccurring that keep coming up. One of those is to do with the ecosystems in the spheres of influence by these facebook pages and groups. 2017, liberated very Effective Network of pro corbyn groups, however this time around, there have not been quite as, not that the party of the of those been created by other people is not at the same impact and that is because of two things. Firstly, the algorithm is changing and so on facebook, it used to be that posts from all different places would come up from all different places would come up on your news feed in ourfamily and friends of the priority and pages like this do not do as well. Yet these two other ecosystems that are pro brexit and anti brexit pages and groups that share content like this and they create this hyper partisan bubble for everybody has the same opinion in these dont necessarily align themselves to the parties in the same way that the pro Jeremy Corbyn pages do. And this could have an influence on what happens tomorrow. The pro brexit pages, when nigel said he was not going to stay as a Brexit Party Candidate for the poor remain pages have argued about tactical voting we a rty have argued about tactical voting we arty see the consequences of that. The parties and Campaign Groups influence the people running these facebook groups . To the co ordinate question that we do not have any evidence of coordination, they seem to operate as two separate spheres. This really bizarre videos but the official tweets in jeremy this really bizarre videos but the official tweets inJeremy Corbyn or Boris Johnsons official tweets inJeremy Corbyn or borisjohnsons Facebook Official tweets inJeremy Corbyn or Boris Johnsons facebook accounts, onto facebook or instagram we have seen those who run these massive facebook pages and these massive groups in the case to be the stories about the little boy in the hospital and leads and the fake news story that spread like wildfire, thousands places that are not coordinated necessarily by official figures than parties, but we cannot necessarily prove that were quite sure that coming from. Will be incredibly limited as to what we can say about the Election Campaign. There are very strict rules on what broadcasters can do while the polls are open. What about online quiz . Is it still a free for all . Are open. What about online quiz . Is it still a freeforall . Definitely. These places that have been coordinated by ordinary people, theyre not subjected to the same kind of scrutiny that Political Parties are at even then, we debate how will scrutinised the advertisements and posts that they are doing are. So it is a bit of a mess and will see what happens. You can find all of her work on the bbc news website. Borisjohnson and Jeremy Corbyn have held their last rallies. Well hear what they had to say. England with its 533 constituencies returns the vast majority of mps, but scotlands 59 seats will play an Important Role in determining who forms the next government. Making her final pitch, the Scottish First minister Nicola Sturgeon stressed the snps determination to have another vote on independence next year. A tory victory can be stopped if that means voting snp. Snp is the main challenger to the tories and if people do not want to have further cuts to public services, if you do not want to be tracked out of europe against her will and of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister, then vote snp to make sure we take our future and our own hands and go a Better Future for scotland. This is the brexit election. Would you say that the idea of borisjohnson can get brexit done as a light . What you mean by that . Theres no sense in which brexit will be done if Boris Johnson wins this election. The next phase of negotiations and chaos will start. The trade negotiation with the European Union has not even begun yet and most people, most experts think there is no chance that it can be completed within a year. So we have the prospect of another no deal as we go through next year and i do think that get brexit done slogan is the biggest con in this election. 0nce brexit done slogan is the biggest con in this election. Once we skip the brexit mess and vote snp to make sure borisjohnson the brexit mess and vote snp to make sure Boris Johnson does the brexit mess and vote snp to make sure borisjohnson does not get his weight. Is a more misleading that youre alternative, independence, and some are an escape shallow actually, no. Because independents put the future to scotland ands hands. This when i decide whether its comment is independent by this and the clearest possible message that will be determined by all of us who live here and not by Boris Johnson and the conservatives. This is 0utside source live from the bbc newsroom. 0ur lead story is . Its the last day of campaigning for tomorrows uk general election, and all the Party Leaders have been out hoping to win over voters. Boris johnson and Jeremy Corbyn have held their last rallies in the election. Lets hear from them. First heres borisjohnson. Whether it is corbin at one point or another, they are against stop and search and would let prisoners out early, they would scrap our armed forces and they would ban mi five, and they would abandon nato, that is Jeremy Corbyn again. Estherjohn mcdonald, he said that his ambition is chancellor of the exchequer of this country is to prevent the destruction of capitalism. I do not think that is the right way forward for this country. All labour governments and in economic disaster. If these guys, if they we re disaster. If these guys, if they were to get and, we would start with an economic disaster. So now is the time, now is the time to give that madness a miss, this amazing country can come together and to remember, here in this olympic park, to remember what it is capable of achieving and i urge you all to fan out from this great athletic venue ata out from this great athletic venue at a lick, top speed and by the way, since people sometimes ask about my record of delivery, this is one of the many hundreds of colossal infrastructure that you are standing in that i helped to deliver on time, on budget and the most successful ever. Yes, lets get out from this place, lets go forward from this place, lets go forward from this place, but lets fan out and make that final sprint towards a golden future for the united kingdom. We have 24 hours to end the deadlock. 24 hours to break the gridlock in 24 hours we can remove the parliamentary roadblock and get a working majority for a sensible moderate one nation conservative government, investing massively in the nhs, cutting the cost in getting a parliament that works for you. That is the opportunity for you that is before us tomorrow. That is what we can do let us make sure, let us make sure that we do not waste a minute between now and ten oclock tomorrow. Lets talk to everyone of our friends, everyone of our neighbours and encourage them to do the right thing tomorrow and let us make sure that we give our children and her grandchildren the future they deserve in this country. Lets be Carbon Neutral by 2050, and corbin neutral by christmas and we can do it. Lets get brexit done and ta ke can do it. Lets get brexit done and take this incredible country forwards together. Thank you all very much for coming tonight. HeresJeremy Corbyn. They say this is the most important election that is ever been and when you the candidate, it always feels like it. But, the issues in this election are so very important and very profound. We are literally at a fork in the road. A fork in the road in this election. If Boris Johnson and the tories are reelected, do not say anything yet. If they are reelected, we are living in a country that is already grievously divided between rich and poor, suffering austerity in every conceivable way and i will go into that more in the moment, a government that would take us into the direction of a trade deal with the direction of a trade deal with the United States of donald trump, breaking off relations with europe which will turn this country into some kind of tax haven dominated by multinational corporations who will demand and get free reign from an incoming tory government in which they will do their business. That is what the tories would do. That is the choice. 0r what the tories would do. That is the choice. Or we can go another way. The labour manifesto. No other government going to happen either tory government or labour governments going to be there on friday. Our manifesto, written by all of you and by the thousands and thousands of people over the country to the resolutions to Party Meetings through union conferences, to the contributions and letters, e mails and conversations with all of us. Have made our manifesto something that i think we can all be very, very proud of. Because that manifesto encompasses the hopes and dreams of so many people all around this country. And i am utterly determined that we win this election and carry it out. Because, there is and carry it out. Because, there is a choice also, there is also a choice about the style and type of government you want. Boris johnson, ido government you want. Boris johnson, i do not want to get personal about this, butjust put it this way. Today, i have been going around the country, delivering what i hope is a message of hope to people all around the country. Boris johnson message of hope to people all around the country. Borisjohnson started today pretending to deliver milk and then ended up in a fridge. Well, our party doesnt need to pretend and we certainly do not need to hide in a fridge. We are not afraid of questions that may be put to us, in fa ct, questions that may be put to us, in fact, rather welcome and relish those opportunities. The conservatives denied the Prime Minister had hid in a fridge when a journalist tried to interview him. This is where the major parties stand in the bbc poll tracker the conservatives and labour have been making gains since november, and the conservatives have a 10 point lead. The margin of error is 8 and of course the National Vote doesnt correlate with the make up of the house of commons. The uk has a first past the post system that means whoever wins the most votes in a constituency wins that seat in parliament. For one party to have a majority it needs a majority of seats not a majority in the National Vote. Indeed this system, significantly favours parties large parties almsot always have a greater percentage of mps than the National Vote smaller parties almost always have a smaller percentage of mps than the National Vote. The uks leading polling expert is Sirjohn Curtice here he is on the chances of a tory majority. Simply about who wins. Who gets the most seats. This is an election about whether or not the conservative party can get an overall majority, which means thresh 26 of the 620 of parliament. The 326 of the 620 of parliament. That is because a borisjohnson above all wants to do, is to get the withdrawal of treaty that he is negotiated with the European Union to the house of commons so that he can leave the European Union at the end of january. His party, the conservative party however, is the only that supports that step and so the conservatives have to get an overall majority of borisjohnson is going to deliver his pledge of getting out of the European Union. And to give an overall majority, the conservatives probably need around six or seven points, which is not that so far below the ten point lead that the seemingly have, but we cant rule out the possibility that he might fail. The issue of brexit hangs over this election though it hasnt dominated as some expected. One curiosity is the performance of Nigel Farages brexit party. It was formed earlier this year. Its also not contesting seats that the conservative currently hold. And in this campaign its polling at around just 3 . Compare that with may when the brexit party took over 31 of the uk vote in the european elections it was the Biggest Party in the uk. If borisjohnson succeeds in pulling those brexit supporters to the tories hell have largely united the brexit vote which will be a huge boost. Whats fascianting is that in his efforts to do that borisjohnson has been campaigning in west yorkshire, in cities like bradford which had a big leave vote in the 2016 brexit referendum. In the 2017 election, the area still predominantly voted labour borisjohnson evidently thinks he find success nextJeremy Corbyn hes given a speech in rother valley here at the cost of labour and the brexit party. NextJeremy Corbyn hes given a speech in rother valley in the north of england. Labour won that seat in 2017 but it is a leave voting area, and the conservatives are applying pressure. And jo swinson was in london today, targeting remain voting seats like richmond that have typically voted conservative. To make sense of it all, ive been speaking to our uk Political Correspondent rob watson. This is an immense ms. Immensely simple election. Very polarised country. The leaf vote of the remaining boot in the second issueis the remaining boot in the second issue is the profound unpopularity of the two candidates. And it seems to me that the only really truly important of them during this election was the mere collapse of the brexit party and that seems to me suggesting that the leave food is far more united that is behind mr johnson for the conservatives and mr corbin although he has enthusiastic support for many people. He is the most unpopular opposition leaders since they kind of polling began. Minutes away from the exit poll and bbc world news. Goodbye. It has been a real roller coaster ride over the past few days and now on wednesday we were in the colder air with sunshine and showers but theres more client coming in fairly quickly from the atlantic on those weather fronts there that will bring more rain during thursday and ahead of that rain, a touch of frost over the uk some icy early in the morning and pushing steadily northwards with and pushing steadily northwards with a bit of snow over the tops of the penn minds in the hills of scotlands and temperatures there degreaser would get a little bit milder is to see the back of the more persistent man in south wales and the southwest of england and there are quite a few showers coming in and that will dominate the picture and moving away from eastern parts of england on that by from there. The low pressure will keep there. The low pressure will keep the rain going towards scotland. But on friday, went to bed fairly brisk northwesterly breeze that will bring some sunshine some showers and press most of the showers for the western side of england and wales and Northern Ireland, we still have that weather front in the north of scotla nd weather front in the north of scotland with the rain by the stage not expecting to see, temptress to bea not expecting to see, temptress to be a little bit higher in scotland and Northern Ireland. And we are looking at double figures again for the south wales in the southwest of england. Here, well see some more rain during the evening and this comes in of the base of that area of low pressure and that is essentially guiding what the weather is coming from the end is almost a tale of two halves. The uk and kissing most of the showers and there will be some sunshine around as well. Showers coming into Northern Ireland and scotland, particularly some snow over the hills and for the south, a good part of england and wales are probably be dry with sunshine and there will be a brisker wind as well which takes off the temperatures. Still struggling with for 5 degrees in the far north of england. And then we are all likely to get a speu then we are all likely to get a spell of wet weather on saturday night and it will be rain, but with the air is cold or there may be some snow over the hills. That wet weather clears on sunday morning and then well have more showers coming m, then well have more showers coming in, not distance government and Northern Ireland for more showers for western and southern parts of england and wales. It will be quite sunny, those temperatures around five or 6 degrees from northeast england and down towards lincolnshire. As we head to the beginning of next week, everything is slowing down we have low pressure to the north of the uk and theyll be the focus for most of the rain on monday it again some showers longest buzz of rain and some snow over the hills of scotland and a little different this on the southeast of england but looks like you will be dry and quite a bit of sunshine but the air is still quite chilly. Colder air for the the air is still quite chilly. Colder airfor the beginning of the week that will change you can see other colours change, winds pick up and things get milder. And things will start to get more movement and from the atlantic in the area of low pressure and i push this band of rain ahead and pick up the wind and another area of low pressure behind that to bring more wind and rain. So the weather will change from the corridor, drier to something milder wetter and windier. That change could be wednesday, could be thursday, some uncertainty about transition and there is a change in the way in the outlook. Goodbye. Tonight at ten, a final dash for votes from all the parties on the eve of the general election. Jeremy corbyn and borisjohnson held their closing rallies of the campaign this evening. A last plea to the electorate. Lets get brexit done and take this incredible country forwards together. Ive come here with a message of hope a message of hope for this country of what this manifesto and our party represents. The leaders of the liberal democrats and snp have also been making their final pitches with just hours before the polls open. The Electoral Campaign on social media. How intense was the battle for votes in cyberspace . Well have a full assessment of the parties final offering to voters from across the country, as the uk goes to the polls
