So, strong words from both sides, but what does this report mean . Our north america correspondent peter bowes has the latest. This report is the case against president from. As far as the democrats on the House Intelligent Committee are concerned, he abused his position in the white house, he abused his position of power for personal, political gain, political advantage as opposed to any kind of national advantage, that this was purely about donald trump inking about the next election and withholding funds, withholding aid from ukraine, and return for a promise from that country to investigate mr trumps likely possible political rival. Joe biden and his son who sat on the board of and his son who sat on the board of a gas company and ukraine, that investigation never actually happened. The funds, the aid was eventually handed over, and thats what the republicans are latching onto by saying, the democrats are saying, overwhelming evidence, the republicans are saying that in fact President Trump did nothing wrong. What are the next steps . What can we expect . You can imagine a criminal investigation, we are moving into the prosecution stage, although this isnt criminal, this is political, but when this moves to the house judiciary committee, which it will ina judiciary committee, which it will in a matter of hours. Mr unsworth, who helped to rescue i2 boys and their football coach from a flooded cave in thailand last year, is seeking unspecified damages. Mr musk denies the accusation. Lets go to sophie long, who is in los angeles for us. We have heard the Opening Statements. What did the court here . The first Opening Statement came from vern unsworth, the man leading his legal team, and he spoke about that rescue that captured the worlds attention. Despite that, when the world was celebrating, he had gone on television and given an interview where he had when asked about elon musks attempted to help and how he had dismissed it as a pr stunt. Then talked about the succession of tweets that came from elon musk later and said that the particular tweet in question where he called Vernon Unsworth pedo guy, he spoke about the shame of being called a paedophile on what should have been one of the most proudest moments of his life. Elon musks lawyer gave a very different picture of the same series of events. He said that this is the case about an argument of two men trading insults, and he said that it was Vernon Unsworth who made the first insult first, he said it was not an allegation of a crime, it was not an allegation of a crime, it was an insult. He also said that that tweet was deleted. There was no damage caused. He went on to say that instead of damage caused to his life that was set out by Vernon Unsworth, he now needed an agent to deal with all the requests. Two different accounts of the event that led up to this case. Given the amount of press behind you, a huge amount of press behind you, a huge amount of press behind you, a huge amount of interest in this trail stopping what do we expect next . He said what he had in the interview, he was the interview on cnn that Vernon Unsworth had given, several times, there were three times he told the court, and he said what he heard was wrong and insulting so i insulted him back. He also said he knew nothing about Vernon Unsworth on that day, nor did he know any role that he had played in rescuing the boys. He also went on to say the court showed an e mail between him and his de facto chief of staff in which he was encouraged to apologise during the publicity surrounding his tweets. And he said that he had decided not to do so because it would look like a cynical attempt at rescuing teslas share price. So this case will continue for the rest of the week. The white house says there is no evidence of any wrongdoing. Mr trump says the french president s depiction of nato as strategically brain dead was nasty. Mr macron says he stand by his comment. Claire hockridge, and two others became stranded when their car got stuck in a riverbed. The trio split up to seek help and the other two have already been found. Ao year old phu tran was discovered by a farmer about i60km south of the town of Alice Springs and Tamra Mcbeath riley was found near her car. But, so far, theres been no sign of claire. Im joined now from sydney by our correspondent shaimaa khalil. Thank you so much forjoining us. The search continues for claire, how difficult is it for the police to find her . Its a very challenging terrain, rico. If you look at the map of australia, this area is kind of in the centre, a little bit north from the centre, very, very far away, from the centre, very, very far er from the centre, very, very far away, very hot, very uninviting. Not much around. Much the middle of nowhere. Its not just much around. Much the middle of nowhere. Its notjust that its very re m ote nowhere. Its notjust that its very remote and also uninviting, it is the fact that the terrain itself, the area itself is quite diverse. These were describing it yesterday and saying look, youve got sand dunes, youve got rocky areas, youve got hard clay, you got dense trees, so it wasnt like the police who have been searching for claire are still using helicopters, can look at an open area and find what they are looking for. The other thing that we know is that the travellers didnt stay in the place where they were stuck initially. They moved. They split up to find shelter and also to find help. We also know from tamra, who was speaking to the press after she was rescued, they were seeking shade in the trees. They often hid under trees for shelter. Thats why its been very, very difficult for the police to find claire, that is why the search continues for her mainly using helicopters. But also phu and tamra were discovered separately. Phu was discovered by a farm because he found groundwater you could use to keep hydrated, tamra and her dog didnt stray too far away from their car in they were found earlier this week on monday. Thank you very much for that update on the search for claire which continues in australia. The bbcs kiama kahlil in the sydney bureau. Each year new zealand resettles about 1,000 refugees, mainly in its big cities. But it often falls on Community Projects to help people integrate into a new life. Weve been to the countrys capital wellington to find out about one scheme letting women get to grips with something many of them have never had the chance to try before, riding a bike. You can do it. I got you. Keep that leg up. I am feeling a little bit of stress and shaking. Scary, i have to be honest. It is a bit frightening. So you feel really good and calm . Brilliant. Thought up. Put up. Keep that leg up. In iraq, no, i dont have a bicycle. Its because its not allowed for women to ride a bike there. Itjust started in a garage. A group of friends thinking lets get a few bikes together and give them out to people who need them and then it quickly snowballed into something bigger. As we were giving out bikes within the refugee community, it was all was the fathers and children that were asking for the bikes. The mum was often just standing there. And thats when we really identified that many of the women didnt know how to ride. One, two, three. Ive been thinking of learning it for so long. Every time i want to learn it im either pregnant or having a baby, so it was not a good time. But now its a great time. For women coming from middle Eastern Communities or some african countries, it just really wasnt acceptable. It wasnt a done thing for a woman to get on a bike. I have had some experiences with families not wanting their younger daughters to have a bike. I have had to work quite hard to say youre in new zealand now, its really safe for your daughter to ride a bike. Please give her that chance. Please give her that freedom. So, looking back, now signalling. In my home town i have ridden bikes, its small roads. But here its such a big city, so its hard to ride here. I would like to learn the rules here. Refugee housing often tends to be in the furthest, remotest corners of a suburb where theres no public transport nearby. I think having a bicycle means a woman can integrate and get out, get to the library, get to the pool and get to their language class. Im feeling like a bird. Im flying. Im so happy, im so happy. Me too you have been watching newsday. Im kasia madera in london. And im rico hizon in singapore. Stay with us for abr. Coming up the us house of representatives ramps up china tensions. But whether pushing across Northern Ireland, and the rain getting into Northern England and northern wales, too. More cloud around on thursday but it should be bright enough. Mulder south westerly winds spreading across more the country. I was the most between 9 i2 across more the country. I was the most between 9 12 degrees. What follows on thursday will be a very mild night, it might come as something of a surprise especially when you consider recent nights have had sharp frosts. As we head into friday morning, these are the kind of temperatures, 11 12 degrees. It is so mild as it is cloudy, wet and windy. Initially we have the winds coming in on a south westerly direction. Peter in the day we will get these north westerly is following in across the northern half of the country. Temperatures will be dropping away. Original papers are to start things, sunday sees a weather front moving across the uk. So, saturday looks like it will be the better day of the two on the weekend, perhaps a bit of rain getting into Northern Ireland later in the day.
