Five people are arrested over alleged accounting fraud at the bakery chain, patisserie valerie. Andy murray and phil is he and a lopez when the queens doubles title. And england beat cameroon 3 0, in the womens world cup the conservative leadership candidatejeremy hunt says his rival borisjohnson must be prepared to answer difficult questions if hes to become the next Prime Minister. The foreign secretary said someone who wanted that role should answer questions on everything but that he wouldnt comment on mrjohnsons personal life. On friday police were called to the flat he shares with his partner, after reports of a row. Borisjohnsons team say he ought to bejudged on his policies not his private life. Heres our chief Political Correspondent vicki young. If you want to be Prime Minister, you are going to face some tough questions. Borisjohnson you are going to face some tough questions. Boris johnson is you are going to face some tough questions. Borisjohnson is refusing to talk about his private life, a police visit after a row with his girlfriend, but he is under pressure to give more details about his policies were government as well. In peterhead today, his leadership rivaljeremy hunt said what happens in peoples personal lives is a matter for them. But in peoples personal lives is a matterfor them. But mrjohnson should answer questions on everything. My challenge to Boris Johnson is very similar. Come and do live tv debate with me. Come and do interviews with andrew marr, interviews with andrew marr, interviews on the today programme because it is no way to become Prime Minister by ducking these important questions and so far he has not answering them. Supporters are Boris Johnson downplay what happened here in the earlier was a friday morning when neighbours heard and recorded an argument between mrjohnson and his partner. The police were called to an incident and they said everyone was safe , to an incident and they said everyone was safe, everyone was well, there was no concerns that they had and there was no cause for further action. And that given that is what the police have said, i think we should leave it at that. Get things right and we can deliver brexit, unite the party. It is exactly three years since the uk voted to leave the eu and brexit is likely to dominate this leadership race. Both candidates were asked to expend their approach at yesterdays hustings. Mrjohnson wants a new brexit deal but says he would be willing to leave without one at the end of october. What i said is that leaving on october the 31st was my words were eminently feasible. He has been accused of not being specific on what that means in practice. It is not true. If we have iio practice. It is not true. If we have no deal, for example, we are likely to face tariffs from the European Union. We have already says twice they will apply full tariffs to the uk. That will make our exports less competitive because our prices of uk goods and european shops go up. And it is potentially bad for the economy. But mrjohnsons supporters say he has got it right and mr hunt will let people down. The idea that we can continue to to the policy of kicking the can down the road which is what the other candidate is advocating. Jeremy hunt has said that he would prepared to delay beyond the 31st of october. I think that would be a disaster. With four weeks to go, and hustings in all parts of the uk, both leadership contenders now the scrutiny will continue. That was becky young. Vicky young. Donna jones is the conservative group leader on Portsmouth City council, and parliamentary candidate for portsmouth south. And in surrey is angela richardson, deputy chair of guildford conservatives. Thank you both for coming on. I know both of you have been in the room with either one or both of these candidates in recent times. Donna, give us a sense of what you learned. On friday, i saw both of them at the local governments association. They came and spoke to conservative leaders across england and wales. It was a very useful meeting, it gives an opportunity to hear from them first hand what their priorities are. For dealing with a huge issue of leaving the European Union and also about some domestic policy as well. And angela, i think you have beenin well. And angela, i think you have been in the presence ofjeremy hunt recently . We had an Association Dinner withjeremy recently . We had an Association Dinner with jeremy hunt on recently . We had an Association Dinner withjeremy hunt on friday evening. He took time to mingle with out evening. He took time to mingle with our membership and to give a great speech to all of us there. I have beena speech to all of us there. I have been a Boris Johnson supporter, speech to all of us there. I have been a borisjohnson supporter, but idono been a borisjohnson supporter, but i do no one thing. When you are in the room with these people it is very easy to change your mind. the room with these people it is very easy to change your mind. I may explore that in a moment. Going back to you, donna, you spoke about brexit. What do you want to hear from both candidates . That will persuade you that one has the answer to the brexit conundrum . For me, conservative Party Members across the country have got a huge decision. And a huge responsibility. The things that are pressing upon us right now are of course, leaving the European Union, but secondly also about having a leader, Prime Minister but a leader of the conservative party who are going to deal with one of the other issues facing the conservatives and that is the brexit party and nigel fry. I knowjeremy, i the brexit party and nigel fry. I know jeremy, i have the brexit party and nigel fry. I knowjeremy, i have met both the candidates but we certainly need to have a future Prime Minister and leader of our party who can reinvigorate people and draw them back to voting for us and also attract new members and people who might be what we call wavering voters who want to engage with the party and vote for us now and for the long term. Party and vote for us now and for the longterm. Which of the two a nswe is the longterm. Which of the two answers that description more effectively from your point of view . Like angela, when you go into a room with these gentlemen, they are excellent public speakers and have strong track records. But for me, in terms of attracting people back to the party and appealing to people, i think boriss draw is very strong. Soi think boriss draw is very strong. So i will be backing borisjohnson to be the future conservative party leader and therefore Prime Minister of the united and Northern Ireland. I think boris will draw that middle ground back and appeal to a number of voters that are tempted to vote for the brexit party or you kept in the past. I think people who say they are going to go back and renegotiate with the European Union, ido renegotiate with the European Union, i do not think they are being realistic. We need a Prime Minister who is going to take us out of the European Union come what may. Angela. Have you changed your mind oi angela. Have you changed your mind orare angela. Have you changed your mind or are you thinking of changing your mind . If you are, bring us up to date on what you stand on this. I think both candidates need to be targeting those undecided voters. I was supporting dominic raab before he was knocked out. Being a brexiteer, i would naturally go to borisjohnson. But i am interested in the policies. I go to borisjohnson. But i am interested in the policies. Lam, like donna, very keen to see a Prime Minister thatll take us out by the sist minister thatll take us out by the 31st of october. I think that is essential to winning the next general election. And i think the polling that is being done would back up that statement as well. I am concerned that we might see ourselves go beyond the 31st of october. And it might be the case that it october. And it might be the case thatitis october. And it might be the case that it is the parliamentarians who put a stop to that. Which would be a great shame indeed. We want to be talking about policies, we want to be debating policies. We want a good discussion on that but until we can deal with the assure brexit, and until both candidates are able to see definitively what they are going to do about the of october, then it will be difficult to have those discussions in a meaningful way in these hustings that are coming up over the next month. I would love to talk to you both at greater length but time wont allow me to do that. You wont be surprised to hear you ask a question about personal matters. Angela richardson, how much does it matter to you that the next Prime Minister has a personal life that you can trust . Dont we all have personal lives . Ithink that you can trust . Dont we all have personal lives . I think what we need to be able to trust as a persons record and as mayor of london, borisjohnson delivered. And i would quite like to see him released from trying to become to Prime Ministerial and to be the borisjohnson that we Prime Ministerial and to be the Boris Johnson that we all know and love. To get up there and i dont think his private life as relevant to this leadership race. Donna, with particular reference to the idea we have just heard, in other words, unleash Boris Johnson, isnt have just heard, in other words, unleash borisjohnson, isnt the rest of that some of the things that people have been trying to curb, will appearfar too people have been trying to curb, will appear far too obviously in front of those who have doubts about him . Boris as his own person and he has been a huge character of political personality in the United Kingdom and around the world and his role as foreign secretary for many yea rs. Role as foreign secretary for many years. So i dont think anyone can camp boris but i think that is what people. In terms of his private lead, he is entitled to a private life, but in terms of the accusations and the allegations made bya accusations and the allegations made by a neighbour the other night, i think they were clearly politically motivated. The poster, the very well put together poster that was on the ladys car window i think confirms that position. And actually, i think police are taking this no further. What has been good is that it is kept boris in the press over the weekend and i am sure from his he will see that some news is always good news. On that wont relieve it. Thank you both very much. And well find out how this story and many others are covered in tomorrows front pages at 10. 30pm and 11. 30pm this evening in the papers. Our guests joining me tonight are the guardian columnist dawn foster and the director of the polling company, deltapoll, joe twyman. A government minister has been in iran, calling for an urgent de escalation of current tensions, after the us blamed iran for attacks on two oil tankers. Reports in the American Media say that the us launched a cyber attack on iranian Weapons Systems on thursday and that it disabled systems controlling rocket and missile launchers. Our washington correspondent Chris Buckler reports. Having backed away from military strikes, america is trying to show it is not afraid of conflict with iran. Officials say they launched Cyber Attacks which they claim disabled iranians systems controlling rockets and missiles launches. Exactly the kind of hardware that was responsible for shooting down an american drone over the gulf. With tehran showing off the gulf. With tehran showing off the wreckage, and President Trump threatening iran with alliteration if ends up another confrontation. The International Committee is increasingly worried. Everybody must keep nerves of steel. It is absolutely central to avoid any form of escalation. The world cannot afford a major confrontation in the gulf. But the us is doing everything it can to show it is ready for war. Even though it has stated repeatedly it does not want conflict. American forces are on standby in the gulf and one of the hawks of the American Air Force was in israel. Now that iran orany other air force was in israel. Now that iran or any other hostile actor should mistake us prudence and discretion for weakness. No one has granted them a hunting license in the middle east. There is a clear divide inside the white house. President trump was the one who called off the retaliatory strike but most of his senior advisers wa nted but most of his senior advisers wanted them and that has resulted in a mixed message being sent to tehran. We are prepared to talk to iran without conditions but we need them to understand we will never allow them to obtain a Nuclear Weapon and we will not allow them to continue the violence across this region. Today, the British Foreign minister minister Andrew Murrison met in iran to ease tensions. But with the explosions that damaged tankers in the gulf, and iran threatening to breach terms of the nuclear deal, tensions are being tested. Professor Daniel Serwer from the middle east institute joins me now from washington. Good evening to you. Good evening. We have had these reports of a cyber attack by the americans. What do you make of them . That does not surprising. I always thought there was a possibility of some sort of clandestine effort against iran after the president had called off the military retaliation. The conventional military retaliation. I think that seems to be much more in the right vein than the attack on irans missile facilities would have been. Although it doesnt mean that might not happen at some point in the near future . It does not mean that, that is exactly right. But the americans have made it very clear that they are begging for iran to come back to the negotiating table. Ican come back to the negotiating table. I can understand perfectly well why iran is unwilling to do that. But i think they need to reconsider because the americans have dropped all their preconditions and are essentially signalling that the Nuclear Issue will be the only issue initially that those talks. That seems to me something the iranians should be able to accept and if the americans give them some sanctions relief i think they will accept it. But that is an important add on. At the moment, there is no sign for any sanctions relief and surely it would ta ke sanctions relief and surely it would take that for iran to say ok we will talk to you. I think that is right but i dont think its necessary for the us to begin trading or investing in iran. I think if there were some us relief, the europeans or the chinese or the iraqis from the sanctions. That would help to bring chinese and europeans and iraqis back on board with United States and it would also give iran enough to be able to return the negotiating table. This administration is blata ntly table. This administration is blatantly incapable of negotiating anything technical. Lets be clear about that. The last administration had a Nobel Prize Winning physicist at the negotiating table. This one has the guy who cant tell a Nuclear Plant from a coal plant. So the iranians need to view nothing on the technical side of nuclear negotiations. The only real issue for the americans is extending the existing agreement. And s that is the only issue, i think the iranians should be willing to talk about it. You mentioned some of the other main players. And of course countries like china and the European Countries involved, they are all still supportive of that original nuclear deal. And that remains quite a significant schism between america and its allies. That is right. That is one of the reasons the americans cannot move much further forward is one of the reasons the americans cannot move much furtherforward on the sanctions front. With the europeans opposing and the chinese and the iraqis and the tax all opposing them. Unilateral sanctions will decay and time and they wont be entirely effective. And frankly, they weaken american prestige and influence in the world. So at some point, the americans have two decide that it point, the americans have two decide thatitis point, the americans have two decide that it is more important to get the europeans back onside than to continue the very strict sanctions. But as i say, i dont think the americans are going to such trading oi americans are going to such trading or investing in iran. It would be enough to allow the europeans to do so. Enough to allow the europeans to do so. Thank you very much for your thoughts professor daniel. Sport and for a full round up, from the bbc sport centre now. We are going to start with england who are into the last eight of the womens world cup after a 3 0 when over cameron. Oh and we have not had the official result yet but a win this time might be buy a larger margin. It propelled him to National Power as Prime Minister and then as president. One of the key figures on the world stage. Everything from European Security to syria. Thousands of runners and cyclists have taken part in a charity race in thailand, marking a year since a group of boys and their football coach became trapped in a cave complex. The team was eventually rescued 18 days later in a mission that caught the attention of the world. Kathryn armstrong has more. The start of a race in remembrance of a rescue that captivated the world. These are some of the 12 boys who, a year ago, entered the vast tham luang cave system in northern thailand with their football coach to relax after training. A trip that went horribly wrong. Flash flooding left the teens trapped inside for more than two weeks with little food or water, before diving experts were able to rescue them. The death of a former Thai Navy Seal and rescue volunteer, who ran out of air while returning through the caves, highlighted just how perilous the mission was. A year later, and the boys have had their story chronicled in the books, documentaries, and a netflix production is also in the pipeline. Translation its indescribable, my life has changed a lot. Translation i feel thankful for all the officials who, on this day last year, spent their time to help me out and the boys are so that we got out safely. I thank you very much. Also among those taking part in the charity race, from the still closed caves, to the village where the rescue took place, were some of the experts involved. I think its important we never forget what happened in june and july last year. Its just really about people coming together and enjoying the day. Its hoped the race will be an annual event, with the money raised going to the redevelopment of the cave complex. Kathryn armstrong, bbc news. Time for the weather now. Quite muddy outlets meant.
