Break from where I was also with the intro b.b.c. Radio Manchester. Good morning my turn to speak now and I have coffee but. Not quite sure would have been doing to deserve this. Anyway good morning me again surely that's. How the devil are you right that what we're talking about this morning what we do want to hear from you is when you've turned up at the wrong place at the wrong time can I just say I've just remembered that I once got this many years ago now turned up for a British ifft when I was an arm. For 20 in all and. Anything anything more torturous believer arrived in Sydney was sat in the studio last week from present in the program. Today no you know I wasn't. House and I showered I've got a. Sad thing isn't it what you do or change well I am reading this morning apparently a 3rd of Brits cut no it's not 130 the list of the states going through the papers one in 100 Brits This is surely. Sleep in their work clothes what so that when they're going to gain a penny they're after contrast I hate sleeping McLouth. Keep trying to do that who. Who would do that he would come into an empty when he didn't need to. I did but the reason being we were just creatures cussing around breakfast yesterday and I was telling the tale of telling of his colleagues wedding and getting very excited because they were. Parked outside the office he gave the game waits the caterers it was going to be old Indian food which is my favorite Ok and getting Looking at the front page one of the papers today that says the b.b.c. Is going to be reviewing wages just hope it's not performance related or the wise that's me and you're in for a bit of a deduction isn't it yeah he read words apparently and up to 600000 pounds to see I'm lost in this article now it's 8 in the front of the telegraph b.b.c. 3 launch major reviewer salaries turn to page 73 and you might find on a summer same day that the Archbishop of Canterbury called for sweeping reforms to count the longest period of weeks stagnate stagnation for 150 years so we're going back here to what 18 sixty's something like that I was just thinking this morning when I was reading this story what jobs were around in the 18th sixty's. Where. I mean I suppose traditional jobs like candlestick maker I mean you tradesmen of a different one of a spark there would be too many electricians perhaps at that time however he still had Coopers loads more blacksmiths mechanic mechanics no carpenters tended to double up as undertakers didn't they. The many the p.r. Industry. No you know possibly know not too many radio presenters I wouldn't have thought oh it's pretty isn't it so 150 years ago and also you know they're talking about way about wage stagnation How would you know how much everybody was on and how would you know how much was the going rate for you doing. Really rich. Vice the guys kind of countries 2250 years. The worst period of wage stagnation and you know. I mean people fairly oblivious as to pay patterns and think that the lead came along to try out the issue of pay and of course there you know some would argue that on the wane now not as you know knocked off as many people are in unions now and you look at the strike because those rules are on strike in London and in $750.00 an hour so you want to be in much much call for that with somebody to work at McDonald's and really years ago but you many big Philippus many working at Tesco Soldado after which a light the equivalent of the melt today in it the shop at the end of the store superstore at the end of the road is like the 860 I suppose interesting isn't it that you can 50 years ago blind me you know I'm talking I was talking about the community at Centenary of women getting the vote although when women got the vote to be 35 and own properties it was hardly fair however when I was ball. Those women it only had to vote for less than the time I've been alive now our let's not let's not start talking about age when you start doing things like that though the history gets completely kaleidoscopic if that's it's it gets all were things only happened yesterday it's no longer is it no we're still in our infancy. Which we get with a dodgy shoulder Oh take me professor now. Was the ibuprofen and I didn't want to say that anyway I'll take a couple Now Ok you should be fine. But since announced his retirement talking about passing lunchbox Yes You know he was such a part I think of so many people's lives growing up and you know we talked the other day about England plain and I've not watched really that much England football for about 10 years I watched half an hour the qualify the other night I've not been engaged in the same way I think it was probably around the time that John Watson retired from international football that there was that kind of bit of disconnection actually from the game was that they could see 72 when he's announced his full retirement the amount of stuff that he's been commentating on since the sixty's but also talk about the best mussy isms you just mentioned the 801 of them was so different from the same 1972 with the cup final none of us can remember for those watching in black and white Spurs or in yellow. Shirts from belters didn't I can't fault probably is too highly. Will have some The balance of entering a time to 18 minutes past 6 Good morning to you is Allison Phil with a 3 to 9 on the Wednesday edition of the British own b.b.c. Radio much to the headlines so much to one family says is in discussions with travelers who are packing for free on a disused area of the hospital grounds and he told of his documents reveal some of the government's draft proposals for a new immigration system after practice it suggest and freedom of movement. By tighter restrictions on low skilled workers from the. Station and the line through it reopens today after a month of upgrade were cheers from everyone back on the trains this morning weather wise mostly fine today I think it perhaps the best day of the week is going to go downhill from tonight into tomorrow fine sunny spells through the day temperatures chilly at 16 southeast Southport little bit later so it's quite pleased to see that it's going to be dry however to spare a thought for those in the Caribbean at the moment making last minute preparations for hurricane. It's been described as one of the most powerful storms on record and we're going to tell you a bit about preparations for that in a couple of at. Least the way to Manchester travel update the latest on the road. Quite looking the motorway cameras and the speed sensors can see too much or slow you down just yet looks like she's getting through whims I was picking up some cues to be heading along with the road to a Chester Road so getting through to wards the Woodford area that's looking at it on the actual busy side this morning heading towards the road works for the building the new airport link road to stop or coping well despite the closure of a bridge and if you're heading between the kind of settle America through to the m 60 on Liverpool Road watch out that contraflow which is still in place and she had made to the 60 at a junction 11 just for get to the junction and you find that contraflow running distance calls picked a place and if you're saying there reopens again today the service on a longer run between. The trains instead but no trains calling it most escapes still as results that a burst of water main asked to remain that way for the rest of the day today at least. 5. Forrest Gump said life is like a box. Of the variety they're supposed Personally I wouldn't miss the coffee cream in one that's like start strawberry paste f.a. Exactly. The opposite late night phone is even more variety than done but we don't get to pick with no idea what's coming next we get what we get human life in its variety and diversity. Today we have been troubled by a strong break with the old brands brisker to wade through. Your news tonight but don't be surprised if you get through to. The late night phone in tonight from Tan b.b.c. Radio Manchester Good morning 22 minutes past 6 so one of the stories that you will hear the next few days is about hurricane this just looks don't if you saw the graphics of it on the t.v. Yesterday just looks horrendous they have described it as one of the most powerful Atlanta on record islands in the Caribbean making last minute preparations for Hurricane official warnings of its potentially catastrophic effects the maximum category 5 hurricane is expected to move towards Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic Haiti Cuba and Florida all expected in its path residents of the Leeward Islands the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico have been told to expect up to 180 mile an hour winds and $8.00 to $12.00 inches of rainfall perhaps even reaching 18 inches in some areas Allison son lives on the small British territory. Which is directly in the path of the hurricane we're short of how we call them hurricane shutters but essentially it's just pieces of before it over the doors and windows down sandbags some trenches strategically around property as well to try and create some drainage and really we can do is sort of stock up on surprise we expect to be without. A good amount of time and what's probably the most difficult is the roads will probably be inaccessible while the powerful and destructive wind forecast pose a serious threat to lives and livelihoods with electrical grids and property expects to be damaged across the region the high rainfall brings with its the potential for dangerous flash flooding also storms particularly in the low lying coastal regions in the smaller Caribbean nations Well Angelica O'Donoghue edits a newspaper on the island of Antigua we are as ready as we can be the bomb is on President so we can only just appear for the hurricane that we are normally across them to live in and not inside of the island we are already here in 3 years ago when then it's treated. Robert Mitchell he from London was on a charity mission in Montserrat and managed to get an emergency relief plane to catch a flight back to week from. The scene at the airport was very tense never a local is a very calm policy the holidaymakers really trying to get out of the situation is very much a ticking time bomb and you know it's a very very tense atmosphere because obviously this storm is only hours away people just want to get out Meanwhile in the United States the governor of Florida Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency with some projections suggesting that could turn towards the state over the weekend people on Key West are being told they must leave their homes today Laura whole works on the island were sold out of gas down here stores so have water or canned goods anymore I mean people are definitely stocked up which doesn't mean that they're all going to evacuated but I think a lot of people are like I am just waiting for a day or 2 to evacuate parts of Texas and Louisiana are still dealing with the damage done by hurrican hard last month but it's not yet clear what impact hurrican might have on the u.s. Mainland then has been hit by 2 category 4 hurricane seen one season since storms were 1st recorded. In 851 a 3rd tropical storm Fay has formed further. Behind and that is expected to become a hurricane later on in the week have you got a holiday booked out that I want to cause that would affect your travel plans I would think but pretty scary for people living out that $25.00 to $6.00. Hours to Uptown Bill Billy Joel 28 minutes past 6 We're talking this morning about times that you've turned up either at the wrong place at the wrong time the wrong venue those occasions when you've got somewhere and you've still something wrong about they see it all follows on from early thinking that she was going to a wedding with some fine traditional Indian fare only to find out I'd see her wedding was about 8 miles further down the road I've done similar turned up to a wedding and we got there and there was a beautiful. And we thought this is great isn't it you know everything that you'd want from a perfectly there was hot that was cold that was brilliant dessert it was nice cake there was a chocolate fountain put in a chocolate fountain that said I'm gone and we sat there with you have saw and gauged in a bit of conversation with people around the table because you could sit wherever you wanted to and then after a while I just thought to know anybody here and we start to look around and we wandered across the dance floor think you know would bounce bumping somebody right in the middle of I was dancing queen no nobody and then we saw the bride and groom and realize we were at the wrong wedding. And it was a 2 venue place at our wedding it was across the hall to be quite honest their birthday was Bob insisted you may cross the plaza Yes roles from this one 0 no we do it we have. Got full bellies thank you very. Happy Hearts and we went to the other place the funniest thing of all that which I didn't mention about that was we put our cart Ok to the happy couple in the pillar box and we walked in. To the wrong birthday so they would have been in the cards the next day or whatever and thinking well it was these 2 bits. Of everybody's you that you know so the wrong place and the wrong time to let us know when that's happened to you I must refresh you of the time of friends went to Manchester Evening. Where there's a match to Rena entering and and sat down waiting for the cake of a lifetime it's favorite band and I thought asking who has cracked my you told me. The worst thing of all there were 24 hour with. Not 24 hours a day that mystic completely forget what band it was that Paul was way into it but in East Africa on the tickets for Christmas I was so excited they went to De Lay but thought what an awful thought of a way to. Go it all. Really busy. 161228 double to double 56 let's get the headlines his class time Office Document Terrence revealed some of the government's draft proposals for a new immigration system that would follow after bricked it suggests that the end of freedom of movement would be followed by tighter restrictions on low skilled workers from the e.u. Thing seen Ok and Fiz one is in the Daily Telegraph and the fun is really concerning an increasing numbers of children according this is according to the National Association of had teaches set it was starting reception this week after the a lot of them are unable to use the toilet on their own and they can't put on door shoes or even express themselves properly that literally not school who read today and teachers saying that more cash is needed for early education I find that complete rubbish surely is the responsibility of the family I have a friend who is a reception teacher not in the northwest down side and she says the amount of reception children who come to school wearing nappies and. Ever increasing and this is this is to me this is a form of child cruelty you know the children that's your responsibility as a parent you cannot leave it up to somebody else to teach your children how to have basic life skills around Burnham was talking yesterday and he made the point asserted he said. School starters in great minds to on able to form a full sentence or unable to use an eyeful that's another frightening thing the fingers and that I thing I mean don't get me wrong you know I've never sat down for the family dinners every single night book your life skills basic life skills not that to send a child to school and in a brand new environment that they can't even go to the toll on their own child you know all the children the cruel will make fun of them but that's just basic life skill why leave it to the teaches and why should the teachers have to say we want more money to teach them basic life skills it should be done at home simple as well right you had you say. Now we talked about travel is actually after these. Have you hear it for because this story about those that all come to parts side. As one of their number is in for heart surgery course an awful lot of news print this morning I think is in most of the papers when that but you're looking at another group trying yes this is in the Daily Mail and this is a farmer he was invited travelers to stand her in sort of the leafy village. I think of set that right in Cambridge as long as they remain in the village and annoy the neighbors probably Linda Watson and how a horse rehabilitation business she's put in planning permission. To business and also build a small home and neighbors have sort of not bought the planning permission and so she's saying it's a very well to do village it's full of people who are their own dairy as she didn't say Dariya And so she has retaliated by saying right we're going to all the travellers go to invite them to come and spend time on my land as long as the rest of the village and annoyed the posh neighbors she's been cold and miserable old bag by the neighbors and saying it's a bit of sour grapes which I think it is but I think it's going to backfire on you know she's not doing this for the good of the travellers obviously she's doing it just to get back and stuff like that are always I believe in karma it always comes back to bite you on the dairy ad and so I've been trying to say exactly what happens here but I think she's I think she's going to rue the day. Saying revenge is something Christ and cold has asked me to be freezing but I think I think it will. And I think talking of karma this is interesting Scott story about this 3rd of Brits used. Starting really still in relationships a friend of mine met somebody on a dating gap Ok with them for 3 months and was pretty sure because she checked his phone that he was still using this dating. So she set up a false profile got into it with him and said Do you fancy reaching a deal or see I think it's not so and he was straight there. Straight to the bar. It's a bit scary isn't it Genesee Apparently this is in the film released in all the papers but this in the film and a law firm has said that it seen a rise in out being referred to in divorce proceedings. But the people that use the op who are still involved either married or whatever say that they do it because and they're in a relationship because the bought too many rides not a good love life and women especially say there's a lack of attention however if they find a partner doing that but that thing that you said it's like that song because the range to meeting their lonely hearts thinking they love reported me at Yeah it's hilarious I killed him but there you go. You know I might say he talked about infidelity on his radio show yesterday between 9 and 10 some interesting stories that. Scoundrel that's what I worry about these dating apps they just become slightly addictive if you just waiting over you know someone's going to someone to flatter you never been on Wall No I've never been one know what my daughter's on one and when she comes home and it's one of those that scouts the area that you are in now they are so brutes like catalog opening before you and you swipe left where Swire writes or oh my it is what is it like when you go on a plane or the 1st class you go left or right if you just want one way you light maybe swung the other way yeah total you quite huge mentalism Oh well I don't like them or you know c. And I was whipping through the Mr great no although I had a hooked up with about 1516 of the dates without realizing what I'd done because I swear I don't know why. Finally we're talking this morning about being in the wrong time wrong place at the wrong time maybe the wrong city you've got a good story about a friend of yours that came to visit you yet my lovely. A friend who I've known for a long time and I was I just had finished hospital and my friend Nicola turned up with a bottle of champagne and a massive bunch of flowers to a hospital about 5 miles away down the road and I wasn't that obviously. He said We once turned up for a family funeral 24 hours early we spent a very well could our mingling among smallness of the wrong way. Famed for his well 3 quarter length he would move around on casters it's that long I'll tell you about the time that I had dinner with John Vause and 5 nights running a little bit later and also today those times that you've turned up on the wrong day at the wrong time or you've just gone to the wrong place this is inspired by a little chat that we had at breakfast yesterday where everybody it seems as got an occasion where they've been in the wrong place and just being completely bewildered about where they've turned up this could be a holiday it could be a concert could be a bit like Dave who got in touch this morning to say that he wants to end up for a family funeral 24 hours early and then spent a very awkward hour mingling among small orders at the wrong wake so your stories this morning of the wrong time the wrong place let us know 816-1228 double 2 double 5 you can text 813 to all 3 start text with the word man now if you've been to the munched Royal Infirmary in the past month you may have noticed some funds parked right outside the outpatients entrance enclosed in metal fencing to the side of the road the vans and the temporary homes are too rich travellers they say that they're staying put until a family member has returned to full health and being discharged from the hospital . But that presence is called some dispute among visit to his patients it's also being chronicled in many of this morning's newspapers every day visits his have to pay up to 15 pounds for parking tickets and the launch multistory car park which is right next to the m.r.i. Whilst this traveling family and living at the foot of the m.r.i. Afraid it's causing some consternation for someone to feel blood is no this morning meantime are reports in c Rashid went to speak to isn't any one of the Homs has been tipped to show how tax money is being there amongst yesterday. He was very very poorly which now he's getting stronger and he's getting better and your family came in Iran on a holiday to day we want to come over to hug that we didn't go on a holiday over come over the holiday I got sick joining me in time to stop and Salt Lake you husband's office you know inside the mine just rolled infirmary and there's 3 bon bons parked outside just inside this kind of gated off area which was already up when you guys came to. Give us a security to security main told us to move into bounce care giving very very nice and a hospital is not a government Lowry a chance in life to go hound. To be very very go which way you call home to ask God for an hour he comes home with us we've heard that there's people complaining about that here and they're not paying for blogging and we have to pay like 15 quid walking a day or something I did 15 cone a day I paid 50 pounds I don't need to pay to 15 pound I paid 15 pounds but I wouldn't want to know I want to have dos become a hospital is almost Me I'm a foundation up on it made sure I made these trade balance won't 11 dollars spent a lot of that our product moment are as my hospital homes were destroyed you just feel it's more important to be right here outside he can send out for me at 2 o'clock in a moment he can send out to me today to talk to Mark I'm from Maryland over here you don't know where you are going on so at least I know her I'm out awesome and I can go I wouldn't say a minute I don't want to when he sends out from him care firms are no longer going home and up in hospital so why. The hospital said to you because you've obviously said that if you do you have a 15 pound a day the hospital letting you go you stay here or be very very kind and are looking after and I looked after me and he found me and I don't often after an hour if I did being very very kind and then never have knocks me for money so it was put as well as helping your husband that you feel lost don't really help John analysis by again and I had my found under alter don't address all the hunter after Joe Morgan Our 1st. And they're not worried about it with their own and trying to help out are not present scientists are not coming down hard on their own and trying to help us What about the police of they turned over anything to place no one's been here and I have never said nothing about it they haven't said nothing about Woods but I noticed. That my husband must take an sake and also have a to never give us that never told us not never to school today but do you personally see kind of any issue with you guys just talking about as a parent stay here and going to your husband's vents and you see any issue with No I say snap around whatever next are going to traffic like you can say everything is fine staff they don't have rubbish around we don't have to. Sort of I don't see nothing wrong with that but you could probably understand that it is just a bit kind of unorthodox isn't it the way to hope process like you know that you're just kind of parked outside the hospital and waiting for your husband to get better is a bit kind of odd isn't it yes it is a bit kind of odd and maybe a lot of people never see the likes of a cookie according to Dave you couldn't have someone that you love so much behind and or some rights icon I mean found is not going to go out like this family here is not going to go down I spoke to people visiting the hospital many of them were shocked and angry by what's it happened those clocks should accompany us and pretty hasn't done anything about which I said that event to have to be done some saying about it if you can develop it and say you know what you body's paying down the number not paying it's like what's the difference there are a lot of people got relatives in hospitals those. Sorry for parking. Lot of the road I should be in car parks like everyone else and in hotels I get the family cars that wear Irish coming over and given that I don't think you know because after it's all them public bends we're all fallen we are one young girl can my weather high school on and I only had her underwear underneath Well I mean I sympathize with them but they need help somewhere somewhere needs to be given to them just like I mean obviously that's not right being stuck stop taking anything. Just for the lies you heard from and there at the hospital told her she could park her vans that basically live on the patch of London till has been Larry was better in a statement to the Central much do you know 1st you hospitals and h s foundation trust of said the ongoing care of an inpatient c m f t worked with the owners of the vehicle to move them on to a disused area of the hospital sites to minimize disruption to the rest of the area discussions will continue with all parties to try and resolve the situation it's in many of the papers this morning I mean you may have heard there from from the woman talking to her when living there temporarily the hospital perhaps trying to do the easiest most straightforward and the kindest thing. 15 pound a day ordinary car parking charges waved to them because they were paying each and every day the papers tell a very different story outrages travelers set up camp hospital I mean the police haven't been involved because it's on private land and they're not been asked to intervene at all mussed city council aren't commenting I think there's a jobless comfort a mile and a half away and it's certainly causing consternation from some who are contacting us on the market said Jill says travelers obstructing access is all in the name of love of course well we should make them a special case the precious darlings as the rest of his obviously don't care about our families obviously very much tongue in cheek and with irony that you. Text and then he says just let's pay them to do their thing while we're attic because you couldn't make this country up so Jules perhaps is one of those who would join the headlines with outrage as the travelers have set up camp at the hospital with the full permission of the m.r.i. Who have perhaps thought they were trying to do the easiest most straightforward thing and try and keep a lid on this and the fenced off the area but of course has come to public attention and now we have the situation so if you have a view that you would like to express than do it is now this morning 01612282 put suitable 5 if texting in light chills down it's 13 double 3 stick monk in front of you message I suppose at the root of it it's easy to actually the fact that they're being allowed to park outside the hospital or actually because it is such a huge Black Berry said the fact that obviously everybody else that goes the m.r.i. Is having to pay the parking charges and despite the fact you just they're willing to pay the parking charges that at the moment the Nazis that the problem let us know your thoughts this morning 816-1228 double 2 double 5 you can text 813 double 3 study text with the word mark in other headlines a leaked Home Office document has revealed some of the government's draft proposals for a new immigration system after Breck's it when's from her it can become lashing islands in the Caribbean now an extremely dangerous Category 5 storm with winds of 180 miles per hour and the commission set up by the center left think tank the p.p.r. Ses the u.k. Is failing to translate economic growth into rising wages weatherwise mostly fine with Sonny spells through the day temperatures of 16 Celsius. I was also with the intro cd seeing radio Manchester. And I just take you back to your holidays if you haven't used a holiday in this country you posh did you have used to upgrade to a chalet. Or caravan in this country and I've been in a tent. Ok we used to go to Scarborough every year and we thought we were clearly quite posh because we used to get a chalet and effectively the Challis was like a huge windbreaker because whenever the color of the elements hits which obviously quite frequently did I just remember sat in the chalet around a wood burner or some device which obviously gave off some heat eating on potted meat sandwiches with course were a bit gritty because all the standard got in as well and then we came away all saying we have a lovely time on holiday it was actually sat in a wooden huts freezing cold sat around trying to keep warm spare a thought though for those that are going to go on holiday for the On 180 mile an hour winds I mean obviously a lot of residents in the Caribbean and Florida because of hurricane certainly not since records began recording her Ricans which is the 850 s. Have 2 such fierce storms hit the mainland in one season and pity for for the residents of course and great concern but if you want you to fly out there on holiday presumably if you let us know this morning you've been told that you can't go surely flights going into places where this winds of 180 miles an hour if you want you to fly out there on hold if you booked to go to Florida what's the situation you know we're told some a King about that in a couple of moments time but if you are a chalet dweller if you do go somewhere in this country and you hire a chalet are they as nice as the warm beach in Hampshire which looks out on the Isle of Wight these will cost you $1450.00 pounds a week they do include a living barrier solar powered panels they've also got a toilet in there and I see a little bit of a kitchen and a relax area. You could if you want to those Couldn't you you don't bother hiring a hotel like it's like it's like a self-contained bathing hot that yeah yeah I get you I thought you meant Shelly's as in like a holiday camp Challis Oh no no let me lay on the for not oh yes well you see you know I'm like I'm a Cleveland last group on the file coast and east coast cross loads of monks. Holiday Russell would have to. Cross the back there absolutely I always wanted to go him on the boat in Lytham now. It's. Cool that river I mean the original Bay of course was for that. Was for that reason the original Bay that was the fact that we're into the sea and that's where you got changed and went directly into the sea to bathe in the waters. See the law did my car yesterday when I told him I was you know many as my 1st car and said Wow that must have been one of the classics. Can I just say that Mike Sweeney has come into the program today absolutely tickled pink about the fact that you've been called all. The. Trouble. We have. Expected through Ackles very busy once again today on Liverpool Road on the a 57 a long Qantas had way traffic queuing from said through to the Am 60 because the contraflow that's running on the full road she had near to where the entrance to the airfield there on the motorway between the usual places nothing major to report to you but a slow traffic if it knew she had stopped porch with the roadworks closure still in place of looking. And around the would roundabouts this morning quite slow out to Denton on the $57.00 am $67.00 as well towards the end of the most way queueing to where Denton Island and in the area were going to close in place of Old Market Street that's closed due to an accident which is happening Street near 2.4 primary school you find that has been closed and good news to be heading for Bolton by train from Manchester trains have now resumed getting to Bolton station by train to call out Moses cater for that burst water main and. The radio mentions the we are Manchester concert marks the reopening of the only. After the terrorist attack in May and you can hear the whole event live on b.b.c. So we'll talk about the whole recording just to say but not quite as bad for us hey it's better that we can it should be yeah we've got a few showers just a couple of showers around this morning but nothink to have a will to significance and really through the course of this morning those showers becoming fewer and further between the breaking up and the sea plenty of dry weather today actually there was some sunny spot developing across most parts as well a little fresh a little cooler compared to the last few days temperatures up to about 16 or 17 degrees and then for the season it's nights again going to turn a little bit chilly temperatures down to about 9 to 11 degrees but then during Thursday what might be a fairly bright start might be a bit of sunshine Initially we will see the cloud increasing quite quickly on Thursday and with that clouds are running arriving by the off the noon coming in from the north in the West a stronger winds developing as well temperatures on Thursday up to 17 degrees in the Black Friday and again it's looking a little unsettled we're going to see some outbreaks of rain showers throughout the day and even into the weekend breezy conditions with rain at times so certainly today yes the best day of the week and you see as far as south poles on that we're going to see. Port for the day to day is a commute today yeah maybe around. Fresh air to last few days but I should bring you back some think I'm so repulsed at this Category 5 hurricane is hitting. Land now in the Northeast Caribbean islands Yeah winds of 185 miles an hour just to put that into context when it gets really really windy here when walking from the car park no let's not get used to microcosmic about it you know. When it gets really windy but on a really really windy Sunday night where you want to use out how fast the wind probably 6070 miles an hour 3 times the full you know. It's really interesting that's the miss a small island called Buck. Which has had direct hits from the eye of hurricane just in the last hour so it was having wind gusts reported of 155 miles an hour and then as soon as the eye goes over the islands it goes completely calm you know flat calm you know really eerily calm so they are experiencing as we speak and then as the back end of the Uyghurs pass that you know the wintertime can become from a different direction how long will it last. Well they're going to have through this morning those restrung winds going up to 15506 miles an hour perhaps more than gradually through like as they are those winds were just ease off. Ok All right thank you for that Simon and certainly for anyone going on holiday there just a localized war and you've had news not to travel just be interested to hear from me this morning go 161228 double to to perform someone you could time to go because it's out the school holidays a little bit cheaper be interesting to know if you are heading especially out to Florida this weekend just let you know sports at 6 tonight on b.b.c. There are no closures planned so there are some closed but they do tend to be. Taking advantage of. The network very late on in the evening and also sometimes at weekends so enlarged the railway those women you know earn less for me to get into and out of money. And also open down from Preston So the worst has been and gone yes all right Ok and you Morgan thanks for that update from Network Rail and we shall wait and see when the new trains as often you know depends on the company's what trains will reach because Jeff Davis want to know about the trains that would come on 2000 new electrified I will wait and see because quite often Up north we tend to get the 2nd down carriages from down south don't being aware of the rolling stock that is on the railway lines but for now a bit of good nice for boat station 29 minutes past 7 Sophie is housed about for us this morning so for y'all to be at the radio going to Swinton this morning if you see our radio couple long say hello it's going to be asking you for your stories have been when you've been in the wrong place at the wrong time you've turned up to the wrong event will be talking to just after 730 this morning and all this week just before 8 o'clock we're going to be hearing from Take That are going to be talking about their new musical which opens at the Opera House on Friday also going to be talking about their involvement in the one love Manchester concert which was the area underground a concert at the Emirates Old Trafford earlier this year talks about what it was like for them living and growing up in Manchester we'll hear from the boys just before 8 this morning. You know many years ago I did a show called Match of the day life which we did at the end he see in the making it was 5 days of all match of the day team and you know people came along and participated and so on and so I was staying in the same hotel as John Motson and we were working together so every night we used to go for dinner as a team and I don't know why I would remember these moments that one night true story he was eating his dessert and he just went quite extraordinary. Was he was he was so true b.b.c. Radio Manchester mafias and to come where I showed you I wanted you to win the next 10 minutes and thanks for the message coming in with regard to the travelers who set up camp with the hospitals permission outside the m.r.i. One of their numbers had heart surgery Terry says set off a problem with them parking there as long as the m.r.i. Are willing to let other visits to stay in that area as well. And have the travelers says spring had. Paid their national insurance to cover treatment or is that free for them also keep thoughts on that coming in we're also talking this morning about those times that you've turned up somewhere either on the wrong day or maybe at the wrong time or you've just gone to entirely the wrong place it could be when you go on holiday could be a theater show could be a concert could be a wedding as we've already heard from Dave this morning it could be a funeral he wants to end up for a family funeral 24 hours early Spencer very or could our mingling among smallness of the wrong. Congleton he's got a great story this really is a time that he wishes he hadn't turned up at the wrong or the right time rather we'll hear about that in a couple of minutes time but we are in Swinton this morning where Sophie Yardley is for his morning Sophie and I believe you've got a tale to tell. Oh good morning it's lovely and Swinton this morning I thought it was going to be all drizzly but it's not the sky looks like it's. Going to train station this morning exactly where they're supposed to be going I haven't so much in the wrong place at the wrong time rather than. Not necessarily being in the right place at the right time before the days of austerity and me having children and responsibilities that we're traveling after university and we had to book all of our flights all the way home. Early on and so some of them were just sort of randomly shed Ewald later on in the year something that we've come to later on we got to about may I think it was one of us said to it you know we. Should probably book flight to New Zealand the flight to New Zealand turned out we'd missed it by 2 weeks so you know not the wrong place just just not necessarily the right place and quite a costly mistake but you have been speaking to a few people in science and this morning about their little. Mr mean as when I was in Spain and I was with my wife and kids and we well we all went on inclusive this holiday anyway like 4 to 5 all cells all under the same name so I could go in any of them because a bomb was the name. So I thought I'd walk down. On a scene the old show so I thought I was going into the old show me kids all inclusive. Or did loads of. Kids church we all sat down all each of the barman said you're paying for it I said no it's all inclusive about the body you should know it's next door. To pay a lot of money just. To have a nice night all we don't was argues. We never spoke again. Oh. How we can laugh when it's not was so keep them coming making call Congleton text back and talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time this is back in the eighty's. High school and his form teacher asked him to take some letters to the head mistress in excess so I went along to her office so when I got there so too with the girls and 2 boys waiting outside the office and said they were all waiting to get the kind the door opened head teacher orders all and and yes you guessed it I was caned with the others 3 strokes on the backside it wasn't a laugh to get the guy in the head realize that I was innocent couldn't apologize and know. That it's wrong place wrong time isn't it keep those coming in 161228 double to double 5 you can text 13 to 3 Start your text with the word man more of those on the way t.t.c. Radio munches to school to some of that's communicable I'm in it's time to be talking about John Motson. B.b.c. Radio Manchester travel updates always good news for Bolton royal commuters as the station reopens this morning but how is it doing everywhere else well we got some problems early on the m 6 the northbound stretch there is a vehicle fine 25 brain to judge 26 at the all in to change we've got human traffic there but you should 23 backing up to the flanks road as well just. Close to because some 5 inside lane closed in a moment also a. 62 West we had in 1918 so Mr Ireland is a lorry having a wheel change as is causing queues backing up into the Rochdale area through to the m 60 m. 60 busy any way from 18 all the way through to the m 61 and also some of the motorway that were. Heading through towards the m 60 which afaik use on Liverpool Road and she had through the contraflow got there. And again trains are running through but nothing calling it most escaped that water main repair which continues today and it also has a call I was 6. 5. Alan doesn't make. Life is like a box. Of the variety they're in my suppose. I wouldn't miss the coffee cream in one it's like start strawberry paste exactly. Phone is even more variety than down but we don't get to pick with no idea what's coming next we get. Human life in its variety and diversity. We have been troubled by a strong break. Through. Join us tonight don't be surprised if we get through to. A late night phone in tonight from town b.b.c. Radio Manchester talking of food one particular food has fallen out of fashion but it was something that you had last night you were telling me earlier our reveal which food. Popular as it once was coming up. It was the 1st one of the season. That suited the day so we'll reveal a little bit later so must see all over the papers this morning after 50 consecutive year with the b.b.c. Which is of a 10 World Cups 29 f.a. Cup finals 20 European Championships and more than $200.00. England games John Motson has announced the age of $72.00 he's retiring at the end of the season 6 strawberry achievement ice now considered to be repeating those source to to stick started his career on b.b.c. Radio in 1968 then he got his big break which came on much today 4 years later and he was there to describe non-league Hereford famously knocking Newcastle out of the f.a. Cup is a look back at some of John Watson's career highlights the truth is that Newcastle . But I guess I was sort of the job 2006 was that but it's often not just the commentary is it all was there at the actual games has a little infill bits of information like none of the players are wearing earrings Calbert with these contact lenses is the closest we can get. A current Connelly you interviewed in current looking through our papers this morning and what did he do for you and. He tried very hard to teach me the offside will be fail because he was using Pepper Potts and salt pots and. Just saying they're very very patiently but I have to say one of the nicest nicest people I've ever met a lot of nice am good at right count go through the papers written a couple of those Thomas just bring up stay with the rest of the morning's headlines the munched Royal Infirmary says it's in discussions with travellers who are packing for free on a disused area of the hospital's grounds Alito mafias documents has revealed some of the government's proposals for a new immigration system after breaks it is suggest the end of movements would be followed by tighter restrictions on low skilled workers from the e.u. And winds from Hurricane or have begun lashing islands in the Caribbean it's now an extremely dangerous Category 5 storm with winds of 80 miles an hour decent starts the day across Greater Manchester temperatures today at 16 degrees Celsius going to be mostly fine with sunny spells throughout the day. I was also with the ultra b.b.c. Radio Manchester. Current calmly freelance journalist we're going to bomb Bolton based She made it back in a back seat on the move to another part of creating much before too long. Difficult choosing where to live we've had that discussion very recently however I digress current as we go through the newspapers a variety of headlines the broad sheets focusing on discussions the tabloids still going on gossipy Meghan and Harry we are in love are they about to announce the engagement the tabloids are asking with regards to Prince Charming but let's go to the inside of the pages that car has been looking at we start with America yeah Delhi mayor and apparently we are facing the worst nursing shortage in in history and $40000.00 nursing posts are unfilled in the union Ses It's due to low pay and relentless pressure now. A leader of the nursing leader Janet Davis and says that patient lives are at risk and there's a perfect storm in golfing nursing and I'm not surprised really because the last of the stray earlier this year and they've got the that I pay cash for the public sector the one percent pay cap and these I mean I can speak from personal experience in the last few weeks that I've been in a hospital I know it's a cliche but the nurses are absolutely and may they really are and the harder they can't live they can't afford to live the quitting the jobs because the the money I mean the trainable and the just question the jobs can't afford to live so is putting lives at risk and I think the pay companies to be lifted there is a demonstration by the Royal College of Nursing today doing a protest outside parliament yes has my girl is down in London training to be a relay Well I admire extremely I really do I think it's an amazing profession and one that I couldn't do. It is mental health which must be one of the toughest courses with regard to the way that gets treated to student. Write a book about yeah it's no wonder that the drop out extraordinarily this is and I do think that possibly more so you have a look at all these people trained to be nurses you know they want to do you want to do it but when they get into the real world they realise that there's just no money there for them they can't do anything else they have to quit and it's just horrendous let's go from up to block toilets Yes this is the stuff of nightmares I mean and you will always whenever you want to go to use the loo you will lift the the lead up and have a good look before you do anything because this is in the Guardian a baby python was discovered in family's toilet by the 5 year old son Reggie the python not the son is a 3 foot long roll Python and he's been missing for 2 months moved house in red Jay it's leather dot. Into the night and you do it in Sundays alone and he was there for 2 months but he's been reunited apparently picture was blasted all over the media yesterday and his owner spotted him and so he said Reggie's no fine smells a bit of bleach and a little bit toilet but he's absolutely fine but so so dear listeners oh you a camera was around you you've been doing your own work Stu's may know the toilet it was well actually the Peppa big has now been banned in Australia that the pig apparently plays with spiders Yeah yeah we're on your but of course in Australia that's the 1st thing you've got to do isn't it a little cheeky looking to the rim Absolutely and I mean the spiders and the cockroaches that they've got the episode Mr Skinny like there's got to pick into the down under very very small and they can't hit you was the message of this Peppa Pig when of course obviously when you've got spiders that specialize in lurking beneath toilet seats and can kill one Yeah I suppose yeah yeah finally if your dog is sneezing this morning so yeah so if your dog PSNI you think you just got something like that just you know when it's ducks and sneezes the whole time she wants to go hunting power late when dogs need to means it's time to go hunting and when they don't want to do the mill about for a day and then the leader of the pack will sneeze and the haunting they will all go now this has been discovered by. A study by Neil Jordan from the University of New South Wales who say I spent 6 years sitting around in the wilderness watching dogs a lot while no one is job 6 he's sitting there doing nothing watching dogs play job but that's what happens when they sneeze they want to go hunting So if you're watching telly on a Saturday night and one of them sneezes you've got to go outside in horror so I think it's because it's got a bit shaken back up it's no good. All right Karen thank you for that good is a. Karen Connelly journalist working her way through the papers for us this morning bring the time to 10 to 8 now that a musical featuring the winners of the b.b.c. Program let it shine will be taking to the stage at the Manchester Opera House this Friday $5.00 to $5.00 preview to pride it's basically a show all about take that funds through the eighty's Yeah the musical is being co-produced by all the members of take that including Robbie Williams And it's going to feature some of their greatest hits got the opportunity to meet up with the lads from Take That's the 3 remaining ones anyway Gary Barlow Marco in and Howard Donald and Gary had to admit to using a singing competition to find talent for this musical also a bit of a risk there always a worry though those shows and we did talk about it way before we saw anybody is that I think in history we've seen these audiences usually pick the wrong people so we were always really worried about but. They made a great choice because they were older and I have to say. Considering I don't think any of a been in any type of musical before they are amazing in their work ethic their bond with each other you know and also theatre it's not just a group you know company you know it's a 30 people on stage I mean they're brilliant so we couldn't be more delighted and you are I suppose mentors to them and each generation has got their own think as you had your own thing you know 25 years ago so in that respect you look at them sometimes. You have jelly I remember that video every And you know it's not really . And they do things that you think oh I don't think I would have done that is that's something you have to step back from you've got to let them do their own think. Yeah go on the farm the way they want to I mean you see we actually see the amount of energy they give out and that's the same energy we gave out when we were young we're pursuing upis. Yeah you gotta let them go ahead and do what they do obviously being producers we have to you know we've we've made changes in some of the choreography of stuff that we might not have done. But yeah I mean we can't fault the singing as well because the singing is so beautiful and they really work together as a 5 piece and really really amazing singers Now this is following a group of fans and they follow the journey with the group over the years and Pav our producer actually wrote a b.b.c. Article about take that Fanchon the early ninety's and how they used to peel off stamps or letters and reuse them and write to one another I suppose at the time because we've almost come the full circle it's on there's no social media you know learning about just how mad those fans were back in the ninety's yeah yeah yeah in some ways I'm a new a dedicated where they used to come to our These And instead of because they didn't have phones to write messages on the Twitters and all that that value and yet the new wall are you window or you cast us and so is the early days of social media and inspired by our old fans you know I think it's. The the bin that's the beautiful thing for me about this musical it is they've been amazing to us over the years you know they've always been supportive of the stuff that we've done and what we wanted to do with this musical is give something back to those people who. You know saw go with us I guess in many ways and that's the thing because those fans are going to probably bring their daughters and sons to watch this. It's a it's been an interesting experience because I think that when I said best fresh because there's been a long line of sort of jukebox musicals now it would have been very very easy for of course to have just told our story on stage but everybody knows where that starts and ends really. But with this it feels like you know our fans of been watching North for years and years but they. Probably weren't aware that we were watching them as well and this musical pays complete respect really to our audience and their lives and we know that although we're the band they have their own bands as well of their own groups and their own friends it's one of the nicest thing I see through our social media is these groups of people who normally wouldn't have met one another now the friends for life and it's so beautiful eyes and more from Gary Howard a mark from Take That tomorrow at the same time it's more of the going to be talking about what life was like growing up in Manchester the band the musical starts this coming Friday at the Opera House and you know how they were saying there when Mark was saying about the fact that fans used to go and scrawl their names on the walls outside their houses and of course Mark grew up in Oldham to words fear because she has confessed to this before on the program Chelsea Norris Oh so he was talking about how Chelsea Hooters are afternoon program of b.b.c. Radio maestros confessed before now to stalking him yep she used to go and get the books of the world and sit outside his house and scrawl a name on the wall. How funny is that. They go more from Take That same time tomorrow. We're talking about being in the wrong place at the wrong time tipping up the wrong place at the wrong time weddings seem to feature highly feel royals have made an appearance and concerts to as my mate turned up 24 hours late for the gig of a lifetime we got tickets for for Christmas and just wondered at the marvel of the basketball being the warm up game and the day laborers would be there would no clue would be there Gordon's in Barry reporting go to the mall and tell us about your wrong place then. Why what are the lot of. My dad heard about while it was. Coming across well among adults yeah oh yeah we set off on one point dropping the will to hold So I think it was your part. Not Know Where are you drop me right now back to what you call the block you can approach your life you're saying we worry should we wait your way to where you're drunk all the coffee we don't know what crows. Eventually somebody from the court came out and. Judge what you hear for a go broader conflict upward on its way to chapter so yes it was yesterday. Oh oh. Oh oh the penny drops you just feel a bit foolish don't you Did you ever get see the classic car it's like. Yeah good story this morning MORNING's Kelly News says I was invited for a curry with the in-laws I went to the no weapon 11 soon for 7 o'clock as instructed the other members of the family seem to be a bit late but never mind the thought of a soft drink and I was offered the complimentary Bombay makes whilst the family arrived about 20 minutes later having eaten quite a few of the bowls of the Bombay mixed my phone rang you said the person on the other into the phone I explained I mean the no Web Unfortunately was in the wrong nowhere but they were in the warm opposites he thanked the staff of the company's new bills and he left. Keep them coming they won't 3 double 3 stick in front of your message I don't want you watching the telly last night don't tell me if you sold out foster because I couldn't catch up I was a bit too you know me too but yeah the 2nd series of that started looking forward to seeing it and it's on the page that I'm looking at now and some of that in my day is in the newspapers they go to the one bloke or something I did see last night I'm off a little bit of a tri tip I'm mentioning Bake Off you've abandoned it haven't you. Not watch the series although Rob keeps saying to me you got to watch he said it's so good this is because it's gone to a quarter longer and the reason being because it carries out this now is on the other side channel 4 of course I was watching last night and of course we've already mentioned in the last week that they're operating from a script. Of 2 percenters Yes and he talks vague and Oldfield in gold fielding and as I was sitting there in a t.v. Critic kind of way I just sensed it was a little bit flatter I think they really will begin to mess the wisdom and which he says i'm And so however it makes headlines in this morning's papers because it was a showstopper cake round last night and apparently is being branded as the worst ever cake display the worst showstopper around ever televised in the series of cake off there were more than a matter so the critics say this morning came back to bite them on the Burma's in the next hour you know somebody that gets up at the crack of dawn heads out on the playing fields maybe in those the grass maybe puts the nets are all they a bit of an unsung hero we're going to be joined by Darren Campbell who's going to be looking for your unsung hero That's next on the online digital radio preview Channel $71.00 out on new smart. Sports Personality of the it's always inspiring especially when they come to the unsung hero we're going to be hearing about that in a couple of moments time also this morning going to be hearing from one of the region's best known homeless charities there's been a battle to save itself from being homeless we'll hear about that before 9 and the wrong place at the wrong time is featured stories from turning up Whiting's quite often is fill it out in the buffet from the wrong writing unwittingly one of the cross with to the right by doing when you realize didn't know anyone would have people turning up at the wrong funeral that would be awkward at this chap in Swinton talons early were it done well I was in Spain and I was with me wife and kids and we all went all inclusive this holiday anyway it was like 4 to 5 all cells all under the same name so I could go in any of them was a bad name. So I thought of a walk down the corner on this corner on a scene yourself so I thought I was going into the old cell the kids all inclusive . Ordered loads of beer kids chips we all sat down to the barman said you're paying for it I said no it's all inclusive about the. He said no it's next door so it's pay loads of money just for their thing what I thought was all inclusive did you have a nice night all we don't was argues that we never spoke again. 13 double 3 text in Start message with monkeys and by gets a call it is taking the 161-228-2225 now it's not that often that we join in the studio by a limpid gold medalists especially one born and bred here ingrates much to book form a sprinter Darren Campbell is with us this morning and we're talking unsung hero says Now is your chance to nominate someone who you think is is recognition for the talks to work that day and by the end of the year they could end up b.b.c. On the b.b.c. Sports Personality of the year well the nominee must be 16 or older they could work across a range of sports or physical activities in their local community such as football clubs rugby clubs judo karate maybe you know go rock climbing and even dance with Darren they suborning is last year's winner Marcellus Bass who's from good morning to the 2 of you good morning good morning Jerrold recovered from last week's 3 like . My body's a bit you know you do things which are easily the you go I should just give the money. Right you're alongside Allison stage she's a bit dodgy there's no no I wasn't in the relay last week. But we'll get round to your thoughts in a moment Darren 1st of all Marcellus just tell us how did you win this war Peter Well my charity my team we all are help young people through sport predominantly box in to help transform their lives and help you know disadvantaged young people without a cause of crime into employment training. In education so how did all these start what inspired you to do that well to be honest with you my personal struggles and trials and tribulations off I faced in my life motivated me to set up a charity excuse me to sell it to help others and in you know it was something that I really wanted to do so while using spore helped me transform my life so what I wanted to do then is to use the same sort of you know values and ethos that people who help me change my life and trance transform myself I want to then replicate that same model and evolve that model to then help others and since think is not how you think this will take a little bit you time that you'll say that you'll put people on the right path but I can imagine it's been all consuming hasn't Is this taken over your life or it's been nonstop now you know it's just great busy is good and to be honest review is you know bring you know the people involved because now you know from having 3 or 4 volunteers we've got about 30 volunteers why helping more and more people get active turn their lives around with sport you know because sport is just an absolutely fantastic medium to use to get people to use you know so get them get their social skills Live skit and really help them to become better people and get them into employment is not about boxing that is nothing that you know about us now we have predominantly use boxing but we're using all the forms now like you know what will basketball Muzi dance is the really expanded how many people do and then he felt with 800 people on our books we'll get and we've said you know service level agreements we have a social services probation youth offending So we're getting referrals coming in and it's really working and you know this award has been absolutely phenomenal for . For me gate you know gave me a chance to represent my city and my quandary So it sounds like an ever wins issue has got to fact follow. That I think you've only got to spend a little bit of time in the company of Marcellus and you you feel the center G.'s positive energy. It's always difficult when you speak about yourself book how Marsalis has turned his life and to go from guns it's one of the journeys I understand to go from guns and so for me sitting here listening to him whether it's the unsung hero award or whether it's a limb Picoult it's the same thing it's it's not that medal it's not the accolade it's what you do with the back to taking part it's full on to sit a lot you know off a lot you can well yeah being able to give Bach it's Ok you go your own personal journey you make it all the way to the top and like I said to get the accolades the rewards but then what you can to do with that and I think as I say I've been able to speak a lot with Marcellus and it's the same paf It's why I give so much because if volunteers didn't help me then what I have escaped my side would die of becoming a lippy of what I've won the Olympics it just doesn't happen and it was those good people showed me a novel way of life because I knew what way I knew what way you know our Chapala drive where I was brought. When you bought Brown's in those circumstances all you see is negativity so you need people in stock to instil a level of positivity tell you you're a good person tell you you can maybe run fast the tell you don't just look at being the fastest in Manchester why not think about being the best there in Great Britain and it grows in the Grose It's like a seed and I'm sure for me growing up in my side you will have those markers those people who you can rely on that make you know a massive difference and that kind of people even when I'm 100 percent you know I grew up on a cell racecourse a stay obviously spent a lot but I have a top club live in South Wales now. Every time a come back to Manchester last night when I got here the 1st thing I did was drive around the cell Grace calls to stay that's where I'm from telling lies to us doesn't it it's changed. Last night. I was driving around and away it has changed hugely and you know even the fluff that I grew up. Cuz I did a proper circle last night so the house that I lived in the flat but flats not there anymore it's a house that's probably worth 150000 pounds do not mean vote for me it's always important I stay in touch and stay connected with where I'm from because it's easy to get lost given this talk of celebrity and you this special I'm not special I'm really really not special So if it without. Somehow you know what to me special people are those that give their time. More fortunate than other people and they can afford to give that time and then they give that time to somebody whose discipline is disengage and they try to change somebody else's life there's no greater gift and you know the i've done the greats much to Sports watched the last 10 years and there is an unsung hero category in there as well and you always tend to find those people who get put forward for these awards they they really are instantly rose they don't want any accolades that it will any acknowledgements they just go you know I was mentioning barely a 7 o'clock in the morning rain hammering down there putting the goalposts there getting colder flags ready and they just do it because they love it and you know that's the thing you know I think most people don't realize the reward Ok Because while yet for me to help somebody and then they wanted to teach something you know . I've helped so many people in so many different ways sometimes it's only a little bit of money that a child needs to help them to be able to go in trade sometimes it's right there in the south but they Yeah you know the one cause I've got a school for raising business and we give out grants to tolerate your people bought the one girl. Be bullied in school sport became important because that's where she felt special which was really good at it but by her being bullied potentially it would have destroyed school I mean it would have destroyed a spall soul just by helping to get through and now watch it be so I started helping when she was about 1230 she's now 18. She's part of a family but there's no greater feeling than you watching them grow a giant like you should do just making a person personal perspective my daughter who had an eating disorder and your entering start running did the London marathon this year as a joint running clubs it's like she joined a cult actually. Inspiring to head by joining running clubs and speaking to volunteers who have helped her I have seen the rewards that it's brought I have been in measurable and it's those people that make all the difference that just say that magic something's not well this is the key in school out this is what I was told this was my blueprint what amount to anything I probably spent majority of my life in jail if not worse that So if that's my start. As I sit here today I just feel very humbled and I feel yeah very odd to be told that was what the start was going to be lots of people told me No you could do this you're a good person this is how you need to act in this situation everything that I am everything that I learned wasn't in school it was volunteers it was good people going to see is like Marcellus just a final word because this just wow I mean obviously you've now been alongside Darren Campbell certainly pales into insignificance the fact you want to met Stevie Wonder because of this yeah it was a. It was a phenomenal story I mean I was actually speaking on a radio station and Stevie It was actually Stevie's radio station and Stevie who'd heard what I was saying you fell in I got a call an hour early. And they were asking me whether I could attend his birthday party at 10 minutes with Stevie and it was phenomenal. You know this is what this is all about and it's volunteers that star orders because if it wasn't for volunteers I will be here you know if I won't volunteer and I won't be helping other people but just on a final note you know less Finally special volunteers nominations open today less nominee less get there more on that red carpet less can recognize it could be any sport at all oh yeah and it's grown it's not a sport now activities are included like yoga fitness so it's called Dar we're able to recognize that there's many different ways that we can help people all right Darren Campbell and his past great to have you and thanks so much if you go to b.b.c. Doc slash unsung hero where you can either nominate online or down like cloud a nomination for your unsung hero nominations and 16 minutes past 8 the headlines this morning the Manchester Royal Infirmary says it's in discussions with travelers who are parking for free on a disused area of the hospital grounds winds from Hurricane have begun lashing the islands in the Caribbean it's now an extremely dangerous Category 5 storm with winds of up to 180 miles an hour and Bolton station on the line through its reopens today it's after a month of upgrade work to go painting was delayed after a water main burst at nearby station the weather for study is going to be mostly fine sunny spells throughout the day decent temperatures 16 degrees. Messages coming in about being wrong place at the wrong time I have been remind of a story where trainspotters had avidly waited for a couple of hours to see the Flying Scotsman and when it came the view was completely obliterated by a chance encounter at a level crossing the Flying Scot Scotsman approaching in the distance. It was coming in to proposition. Pass the. And wife food is his very reason for being food is about her leadership and so if you feel comfortable in a situation there's a really really of these a firework coming out of you thank you for doing. That he was weekdays for you b.b.c. Radio Manchester live talking food on this program I did say a little bit earlier that I tell you which particular food item has seen a huge drop in the sales figures for rates over the last 15 years it's down 25 percent and you had it last night or last parent is falling out of favor with today's families apparently over $55.00 still eating it however the under eighteen's screen The knows about it here is not something I normally we only had to increase it was the leftovers of a roast that my sister and brother in law cooked has at the end of their visit so we chopped it up and we had our 1st slow cooker tell your families. And you know we had to solve the meal plan a. Roast and as you know the finding the right place but we had to have Roussillon because my mother would decide to arrive in roast lamb as a wedding kind of meal but add up in a way with the Postman Pat wedding cake so. It was a classy a further. 23 minutes past age now one of the region's best known homeless charities has been in a battle to save itself from being made homeless itself like Cher has operated out of the Charter Street regular school in Central much to for more than 30 years but trustees of the building faced an uncertain future after planning permission was given for a large development next to the site that still not certain what their what role their building will play in the development Meanwhile the Bolton actress Maxine Peake is backing a campaign to save a life share and help the charity find a new home life she is a refuge from the mistakes I guess and think it's got something to space eccentrics they are a 2nd show they should be challenged as they are best and show their essential within a. Cuts on the something hand money just to see it isn't it is vital so seems to be one percent of the time where people go it isn't life and it's not just for homeless people it's people really understand that you know on the breadline really struggling to the can go and get a warm meal and they can congregate the consumer demand that I think what I'm really cold and somewhat full time wasters in one place is like she does it gives people a chance to meet and it's hard to be heard and I think you know I'm really a big believer in this we all need to witness we all need someone to listen to last all day on the on the sales and if somebody is listening with feel some self some details of this in the stands and to love the slid off the sky a slight shade is in there and then they're not you know beehives it just isn't that the nail in the face you know me doesn't tire of all incidents and I just recently got this big wheel of my chest and I can't say when it's enough money just to talk to love all the fun just so we have a demi that needs to be in that time. And don't do it you society but how they treat the most disadvantaged and it's society's will measure in hearing what Darren Campbell masala spouse had to say about the people that can make a real difference and quite often someone just to listen all say the right thing well Judy Boyle is the operations manager at live show morning Judy what's the latest on Good Morning and well with still not quite so about Chris Dodd a little bit of victory you got a minute and we tell you no control. You know and at the moment we still don't know there's no teaches the new Yeah what effect is having on the work of what you do than. To look at them and say. It's a cry and that they you know. What's going to. School and then I say because a lot of people have depended on the time. What would it mean if you did have to move our Would you be able to find alternative accommodation. We're finding that difficult at the minute but we are working with various partners and looking for alternative premises. But of course the cost of the move to lie share we don't get funded with from public donations fundraise then an assistant late to be landed with a relocation bell and no financial support has caused the stress to the charity Yeah so and with uncertainty surrounding Christmas then we put on dinners events for older lonely people there's obviously a number of people who really rely heavily on what you do what it made a could mean a very isolated and lonely Christmas we would find some kind of provision and we would say some to vision but the uniqueness that we have of the child to stay is we open from 7 in the money to lay in the evening 3 meals a day doctors nurses the dieties don't you well. As entertainment it's as much as service for the homeless to marginalise as there is for the volunteers who come in have done it for you know nearly 30 years now building their home situation here in Greater Manchester and then figures in the last 7 years of chrome us of really having the Scot much worse is well over the past couple of years. It is really really getting to epidemic proportions once you put it down to g.d. . A lot of his down to welfare reforms cause to service. That you know Universal Credit kicking in and it's very dire times for the people to be tackled. A lot more support really and they you know and Burnham's promising to support put more money into services and we need really this thing is all to unite together to solve these issues All right Judy Boyle from live show thanks for coming on to speak to his work he taps on that story hey on b.b.c. Radio Manchester 27. Minutes past 8 going to the we are Manchester concert is this coming Saturday we'll talk more about this as the week goes on but no Gallagher's flying birds Rick Astley the blossoms the Cortinas they're all going to be on stage at the reopening of the arena you can hear the whole of the concert with us and myself and Becky wants are going to be broadcasting outside the arena so if you are around Saturday afternoon you can hear that on digital radio and also online from 5 that's the we are Manchester concert going to display a little bit different later going to be going to speak to James guy you know James guy for your following the Olympics. It was the last year 2016 there was no one silver didn't think you were going picks in Rio strange thing I was only last year that seems ages ago now and the way James is going to be setting up a new birth story and one of the recipients is going to be his former club Trafford metro so he's going to be swimming a little bit later going to get a masterclass I mean I was talking to them yesterday said. Spend 2 minutes in the pool with you if you want to give you a bit of a masterclass please I said I'm like I'm like a man drowning in poverty which more than 10 minutes a little minnow So anyway you'll hear from James later in the week I asked whether you will work clothes for work particularly being married to a cop or to use only x. Out of the clothes he gets excited about getting new ones always wear clothes but do you ever feel one wearing them judged because there's a full page article it one of the tabloids this morning it was a stupid act written a by a young woman who claims to be a budding artist has snapped a queue in front of her at a burger joint where there are 4 blokes standing in front of all in were obviously builders of some description and has decided to tweet a picture of them with saying these guys look like they got one g.c.s.e. Between them an incredibly just a mental thing to put my word she's getting a backlash they have tracked the tabloids tracked the guys down to find out what their education is they're all scuffled is so these are guys that are just. Mad as a box of frogs because be able to scuffle than I think you do you have to be completely barmy quite brave but then goes through all that educational history each ending in the region of 45 grand each and you can readily dissipate what they've had to say about what's been tweeted about them as this woman is just plastered their image Ordinaries not presuming that they are educated because they wearing clothes how judgmental is that but it is interesting how people get judged I know with a psychotherapist here in Manchester who when you see him he's booted and suited and we have spoken more than once because when he takes his shirt off he's covered in tattoos from his wrists a piece leaves right around his chest and his back like a painted man when he's on holiday on the beach gets judged and Tiley differently from money pays in a collar and tie. Here is his. Recipe for success you've got to have a decent voice you've got to have a sense of timing you've got to know when to talk and when not to talk and I think you've got to try and get across essentially what the viewer can't experience at home which is the excitement in the crowd something that you might spot you know which the cameras are just about to reach that still hasn't become apparent you are the eyes and the ears of the viewer and I wonder if he's going to be wearing his sheepskin jackets in retirement. I was the boss with the intro b.b.c. Radio Manchester. Banking brings the time to 2510 knowing already how time flying just as nearly don't know. Which means that Mike Sweeney gets to take over the mantle morning and on a day of a chuckle this morning on the way sheets you have a tickle at somebody else's expense yes when when the mechanic says to her and she said she hadn't riginal many went Oh classic And is that is it true that he who laughs last laughs last of us left us last year so I had the 2 new tires and he was very enthused by many so pointing out that it and many tools have been my 1st car a lot of like he was astonished Wow that has been one of the classic Was it before there was such. This is usually much to what no make scouse accent used in Liverpool That's a ghetto wanting to get a taxi. Stop or. Was waiting for me. On this with. What you talked about the knowledge a great as you know story in The Daily Mail about the war the woman that was refused planning permission because the locals are Jesse's this little chocolate box village and she's really miffed about it and what she's done is she's put an open offer to travelers to come and set down on the land she hopes she hopes that the river in the village cause problems for everybody I mean just I just couldn't believe the neighbor I just thought What's your relationship with the neighbors like you know. Do we still have good neighbors it's just symptomatic of neighboring now in 2017 so I want to know what your relationship with the neighbors was or is like good job bad what go wrong well a lot of my neighbors somebody friendly with. A lot of investigations exactly what comes out. A lot of my neighbors were friendly with because we all moved in together Ok Ok so we've seen the kids grow well leaving home marriage is some of the kids have even got divorced it's been a real life's journey but what. They want to go off of what you know no hope what's it like watch out for libel one of my neighbors I know but one of my neighbors has been farmed up you don't see over the last 10 years he was one of the newcomers that movin out this weekend I am taking it so personally he has had to call it to mean he said Allison don't take it personally it's nothing to do with not liking the area we're live in he's just time for a change are you going to be there then when the new people arrive going to vet the chicken what's coming out of the back you know when people have moved in in the past I'm the one that goes out and says You want to bring you know where you kept Yes and he can sort of gauge the count as well what they're like for yes yes some turn it down or we've got upset point blank honestly we've been very lucky we've had incredible neighbors for 20 years. Me of if I mean incredible close friends with them. They have got their do stuff went on holiday so you know I've been lucky to have great neighbors. Nightmare What's your relationship with your neighbors like trying to call and if you can that would be great. Way to. Travel. With the latest on the roads that. Didn't work. And which of the 62 we have delays westbound from rush down through to the m 62 was a lorry having a time change for time there but it's also busy anyway because of problems of name 60 with a broken down vehicle between 17 and 16 for the top section the m 60 backing up onto the m 62 also fits in the m 66 this morning very slow once again for the m 6 we have broken down 21 of the northbound exit there is a broken down car on the slip road so it's down to one lane and backing up onto the main character very busy today heading through from Eccles kind of headway into the road works on Liverpool Road contraflow just after just need to junction 11 pm 60 and. With the closure of mostly bridges very busy on surrounding routes as a result of that train back up and running now into Bolton from Manchester the station has reopened but I won't call it Moses gates because of the burst water main repairs. 5. Radio Manchester 17 minutes away from 9 I'm looking forward to Monday night as well I'm off to the ball to not can see Rita Seward Bob to remember them that was originally out that was such an iconic film wasn't it so funny I don't know if it's going to be you know sort of like for like the stage production how close is to it was interesting to see how they do it yes for film stage but. Puts that yeah right student talking to this morning about wrong place wrong time we'll be back with Sophie Yardley she's in Swinton for us this morning in just a couple of moments time in the meantime I Cooper center is currently bathed in certain shine which sort of usually isn't it because the last few days it's just been Simon. Grim really grim of the last few days start of the morning off with heavy rain. Being pretty mild there isn't it I normally humid but actually it's not very nice when it's raining but much improved this morning a bit chilly out there freshly compared to recent mornings and there's some sunshine as well we've still got a few showers just dotted around Greater Manchester but they are becoming more and more isolated and for most of us today is going to be a dry and they and there be some sunny spells as well temperatures only getting to 16 degrees down by 3 or 4 degrees Celsius compared to the last few days but I think that sunshine will be pretty nice evidence nights varying amounts of clouds temperatures down to about 9 to 14 Celsius and then during Thursday a dry start of the day a bright start again we're going to bathe with a bit of sunshine the cloud the increasing with rain of actually moving its way in during the afternoon so temperatures of 17 degrees and with a rather brisk wind it stays pretty unsettled for Friday into the weekend as well. No sign of returning to decent weather then at the moment no prolonged spells of these weather no to say Ok yeah make the most. We're dog walking in Southport a bit later and have a little bit I want to if you don't want to fall over the weekend I don't see the red squirrels I did see quite a few red squirrels you know they have the reserved. For me that instead it's quite close it's lovely. And they were down the coast a crossbow to say the unseen we were all the Iron Man You know I've never seen another place or you see those they're really good really got you know enough to do a whole tour of the World Turns out I was in the national you know when the 3 queens sailed over to Murphy you know chips Yeah and 18 credible because they got right close in cause the way that the river depicts there the estuary goes so deep so quickly it could take 3 massive cruise liners literally they seemed about 20 feet out at sea it was astonishing sight but that was you could see them by standing by the I meant Ok thank you for today yes thank you and a decent day as well Simon thank you it's called to line on b.b.c. Radio much step back in Swinton in just a couple of moments time will also hear about those travellers that we've been reporting about this morning on b.b.c. Radio Manchester I will mention it in a moment in the headlines we'll get reaction to that some reports in sea recede has been outside the m.r.i. For us yeah the hospital says it's into questions with travelers who are packing for free on a disused area of the hospital grounds elsewhere in the headlines a leaked Home Office documents reveal some of the government's draft proposals for a new immigration system after breaks it and a commission set up by the Center Left think tank the idle piastres the u.k. Is failing to translate economic growth into rising. Was also with the intro b.b.c. Radio Manchester. Just good morning to you saying his Wrong Place Wrong Time was when he got on the wrong train ended up in Liverpool this all started we were talking about weddings yesterday and the times that we've gone to the wrong wedding I went to the wrong we turned to put a venue we arrived we sought. The wedding was going on disco in full pelt so we decided to go in can I speak plates of food indulged ourselves in the chocolate fountain had a piece of cake enjoyed some free booze and then realized when we looked at we didn't know anybody in the room let alone the bride and groom and we were actually at the wrong venue it was a 2 venue hotel and we were in the wrong room that's not quite as bad as our producer Matt today to confess yesterday not only did he go into a book at a wedding it also ended up in the wedding line at the end of the night in case the bride. That's what you call a good nights out just got us to thinking this morning about those times that you've either gone to the wrong location you've ended up at the wrong event or you've just chosen the wrong date Sophie Yardley is in Swinson for is this morning morning so. Good morning it's glorious incident in the smoldering The sky is blue the sun shining it's a fresh crisp day but the. Venue misdemeanor is cold and he's causing a few people a few problems quite a gender divide as well few women telling me that they've never been in the wrong place but the husband's house so yeah we've spoken to a few people who went down into Swinton precinct where the bake has roping that with a couple of people public transports and weddings being the main problem let me tell you but just. A few years ago. A male friend of myself were invited to. The reception. Police when. We arrived at the poll. Very few minutes 510 minutes. We didn't know anybody inside the poll. Numbers were random didn't recognize intimate friend didn't recognize anybody and the people guess that the in the poll but they were saying you started looking at us as a movie realized we'd come to the wrong reception and. It was really embarrassing. And very uncomfortable feeling left out was uncomfortable at the time. Everybody was looking I think he was one of those guys don't realize the friends that we've gotten from for their own well. You know the club are supposed to. Question. We. Need to drink scope and then we left very very quietly Do you have the buffet while you with us too but I have a little bit of a bush so we got to the correct was a bad reception we have to. Do. And to just say look how did you congratulate the original so I thought I thought we thought it's best to just disappear because. People don't but you get corruption at weddings and it was completely unintentional . But it was very embarrassing I think at the time I think it was the quicker we leave the better so I will get a few of the tales as well from Sophie who's been in Sweden said this morning yes so weddings writ large over wrong venue's as long as it wasn't the bride and groom being the wrong venue. Come the time is coming up so you tend to not have to see think you have been to the menstrual Infirmary in the past month you have know to some fans Paltrow right outside the outpatients entrance and a close up apartment close to a metal fence into the side of the road the van's a temporary homes to Irish Travelers this is same pool until a family member has returned to full health and is Josh in the hospital but their presence has caused some disputes among visitors and patients every day Vista's have to pay 15 pounds for parking tickets in the large multistory car park next to the hospital whilst this travelling family living at the foot of the m.r.i. For free featured in many of the national papers today our reporter went along to speak to an who's living in one of the vans It has been took to heart attacks and he's been there I want yesterday. He was very very poorly which now he's getting stronger and he's getting better and your family came here on on a holiday we only came over to hug every single one of the holiday over come over the holiday and he got sick joining me in time just happened saw your husband's office you know inside the Manchester Royal Infirmary and the 3 bar bands parked outside just inside this kind of gated off area which was already up when you guys came. There was a security 2 security main taught us to move into bounce care of him very very nice and a hospital is not a government Larry a chance in life to go how.
