But now this.
Word went out this week that Armando Bisceglia is so ill with COVID that he’s on a ventilator.
He’s a reminder of the toll the virus still takes.
I first met him as manager at Zooma when, selflessly, he urged me to write about a compatriot named Billy Manzo, a “master pizzaioli” constantly pushing for the Holy Grail of the genre at Manzo’s two restaurants, Federal Hill Pizza of Warren and Providence.
That was August of 2019.
His idea was to bring his old world family recipes, and southern Italian cuisine, to the state’s Little Italy.
