Australia slumped to a 23-run loss to Bangladesh in their opening T20I in Dhaka overnight.
Chasing a modest 132 to win, Australia could only muster 108 in reply as Bangladesh recorded their first ever win over the Aussies in five attempts to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed took career-best figures of 4-19 as Bangladesh’s frontline spinners restricted Australia to 5.40 runs per over off their 20 overs.
Mitch Marsh top scored for the tourists with 45 as Australia’s frailties against spin were laid bare - just three batsmen made it to double figures.
