ISLAMABAD: Sindh’s former energy secretary Agha Wasif Abbas filed in an accountability court here on Monday an application challenging attachment of his assets.
The court sought a reply from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to Mr Wasif’s application by July 15. Judge Syed Asghar Ali confirmed the freezing of 13 bank accounts belonging to Mr Wasif and his family members.
NAB had on June 17 asked the banks to freeze these accounts, informing them that Mr Wasif was among the accused persons in “fake bank accounts scam regarding extending illegal favours to M/s Technomen Kinetic (Private) Limited and others in projects of Sindh Nooriabad Power Company and Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company (STDC) and misappropriation of funds”.
