Fifteen Everett High School Future Business Leaders of America members competed in this yearâs Region 17 FBLA conference, and 14 earned a trip to the state competition this spring.
The regional conference was held virtually this year. Students competed by taking online objective tests, recording videos of their speaking events or interviewing via Zoom for the events that required interaction. Students from Bedford, Chestnut Ridge, Everett, Rockwood and Somerset high schools competed at the conference, sponsored by Allegany College of Maryland.
Everett students who are eligible for the virtual state competition are Isaac Mearkle, first in Agribusiness; Annie Nave and Mary Hood, first in Banking & Financial Systems; Maggie Feight, second in Help Desk; Hailey Burchfield, first in Insurance & Risk Management; Mollie Feight, second in Introduction to Business; Emily Hess, second in Introduction to Business Communication; Reese Sherwood, third in Introduction to Financial Math; Lainie Treece and Brooklyn Beegle, second in Marketing; Madison Shoemaker, third in Organizational Leadership; Erik Hogset, first in Securities & Investments; Kyle Duvall, first in Spreadsheet Applications and Regan Seville, first in Word Processing. Honorable mention went to Liah Ramsey, fifth in Business Communication.
