The actor says that he took inspiration from his uncle, Advocate Surendra Singh, who was a criminal lawyer in Jabalpur, to play a lawyer in the courtroom drama. His growing up years among lawyers during summer breaks in the town in Madhya Pradesh helped him prepare for the character.
