The Argentine House of Deputies on Friday passed a bill that would legalize abortion in that Catholic country, despite a letter from Pope Francis in late November defending pro-life activists and stating of abortion, “Is it fair to hire a hitman to resolve a problem?”
The legislation was introduced by Argentina's president, Alberto Fernandez, who said it would make abortion "legal, safe and free."
