And for anyone who has spent the last year working in isolation, the group’s unique and very hands-on approach to improvisation and reducing the spaces between bodies must seem like a kind of intoxication.
Three dancers who participated in a 2020 Contact Gonzo workshop – Michaela Tancheff, Jayden Wall and Adrien Tucker – have reunited for a four-day Chunky Move residency to continue exploring the Japanese group’s methods.
