The thing that the Routt volleyball team has been dreading for the past two weeks — maybe longer — finally happened Wednesday night.
The 2021 season came to an end.
What was Routt senior Makenna Baptist thinking after her team’s win over Pleasant Hill?
“That I don’t get to come back,” she said.
“I’ve been here for four years playing, and I got to be on varsity for those four. It’s been an honor the whole time. And I’m glad I got to do what I did and get the assists that I’ve gotten over the years. I’ve had a bunch of good hitters, and I got to leave with them today, most of them.”
