Well again i mean its really something to watch just in terms of the contortions that members of the ministration are going through to try to say this changes nothing that if you were born in jerusalem you still will say you were born in jerusalem you wont it wont say that you were born in jerusalem comma israel in other words nothing in practice is supposed to change which begs the question either this was a statement that President Trump intended to do to change things in which case it would be serious because it would go against the principle that we shouldnt prejudge the outcome of negotiations or change nothing in which case it really would have been absurd to have taken this risk of the unrest which the state department had predicted before hand would occur. Not to be that many that much ramification i mean the us its not the first time that the us feels a little bit isolated on this on this question again the decision the statement itself really doesnt change that much its an unfortunate reckless statement but it doesnt really change that much in reality because the president and his advisors have been at pains to say were not prejudging the outcome of the boundaries of truce of them that would be decided what it does serve i think is a. Demeanor at that i mean i realize youre saying perhaps technically if people drill down it doesnt really change anything but the perception is that it changes something and were not friends thats the point i was going to go right ahead of the point i was going to make is its technically it doesnt change anything so why do it when you know that psychologically emotionally politically it has an implicate it has certainly i mean were seeing the motions that generates and that it further discredits the United States it further makes it harder for the united and its allies in the region to be viewed credibly in this process so although theres no positive reason for doing it as the one hundred negative reasons why it shouldnt have been taken my point was the decision in itself practically doesnt really change much when its true it serves as a reminder at least it should be a moment where palestinians in particular come to terms with the fact that there is no serious Peace Process to speak of there is no credible mediator to speak of and therefore they do have to make some choices about where they want to go those choices are overdue but maybe this is an opportunity for them to think and its not up to me to say what i think or what they should be doing but at least an opportunity to think that in the absence of a serious Peace Process in the absence of a prospect of serious negotiations with israel and in the absence of a mediator in the u.
