Ian Richard Devaney’s nascent music career was struggling to get out of the blocks but everything changed when he heard Electricity, the debut single from Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Released back in 1979, it helped make OMD one of the most beloved synth-pop bands of the era and it paved the way, decades later, for Devaney’s next band.
