Launched on May 14, the Alberta government provided $2-million to Alberta Music to manage the Stabilize Live Music Grant. Two streams in the grant program are supporting the live music industry adapt and relaunch following the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Individual Micro-grant stream supports live music professionals with innovative content creation, education, promotion, and management projects.
“Music is an economic driver as well as a balm for the soul,” says Ron Orr, Minister of Culture. “The live music industry is an important part of Alberta’s economic recovery and rebuilding community spirit after trying times. We need to protect and support musicians, producers, managers, promoters, and other live music industry professionals in Alberta, because there wouldn’t be an industry without them.”
