The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) is expected to advise the government against accepting the Law Commission's recommendations on the age of consent in cases involving adolescents aged 16-18 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The NCPCR has raised concerns about the veracity of a policy brief used by the Law Commission in its report and has urged UNICEF to withdraw the document.
