A new Piggly Wiggly coming to Mobile

A local investor paid $475,000 for 1.24 acres at the southeast corner of McGregor and Springhill avenues in Mobile, according to John Vallas of Vallas Realty. The property in the Springhill area is zoned neighborhood business and has been approved for a 15,000 square foot building with 65 parking spaces. The buyer has no immediate plans for the land.
Piggly Wiggly has leased the 46,000-square-foot former Winn Dixie store space in Town West shopping center at 5701 Moffett Road in Mobile, according to Amber Hightower Dedeaux of Vallas Realty, who represented the landlord. Nathan Handmacher of Stirling Properties worked for the supermarket. Piggly Wiggly plans to open later this year.
