A Lowell woman was told to kill her pet goats in 72 hours. A week later, they are still alive.
"I want to continue raising my goats... and I'm gonna continue raising my goats."
TEWKSBURY, MA - 7/14/2021 Vilmaria Maldonado grooms her goats while at her boyfriend's family's farm in Tewksbury. Maldonado, who cares for three pet goats, says a state inspector recently went to the farm and said the goats would have be killed, because there’s a slaughterhouse located on the property. Maldonado is refusing to comply, and doing anything she can to save their lives.
