A letter from Business Record leaders: Statement on events unfolding at the U.S. Capitol
Wednesday, January 6, 2021 3:46 PM
This afternoon we are witnessing unprecedented disruption in our nation’s capital unlike anything we have experienced in our lifetimes. As an apolitical business publication, we feel it is important to address how and why we are covering this news and share our commitment to helping our readers navigate the situation.
Our organization's mission is to help businesses do business better, and our newsroom works diligently to take a nonpartisan and balanced approach to reporting on business issues and policy that could affect our business community. We have long held a core belief that we don’t endorse candidates for office and we have historically chosen not to cover the day-to-day news of individual election races; today’s events are election-related. Many national and local news organizations make it their specialty to provide election and political coverage, and we encourage you to continue consuming many different sources of news in addition to our coverage to remain abreast of this unfolding situation.
