In Belait District, an association is making a difference in supporting efforts made by women. This year, the Belait District Women’s Welfare Association (PKP Belait) marks its 55
th anniversary.
Speaking to the Bulletin during an activity at the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) Library Kampong Pandan, PKP Belait President Hajah Kertini binti Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Diraja Abang Haji Abu Hanifah said the association supports women, especially single mothers over the age of 70, in the surrounding areas of the village.
Hajah Kertini said, “Since the establishment of the association on June 10, 1965, we have been actively supporting and empowering women in the district and beyond in all areas – be it education, welfare, or the well-being of women.
