New gallery Moxie’s Daughter opens on Sacramento Street
Emmy-nominated documentarian and photographer Margaret Cheatham Williams is stepping from behind the camera into the role of gallerist with her Sacramento Street project, Moxie’s Daughter, named in honor of Williams’ mother.
Williams describes her style of photography as centered around narrative and storytelling, which she honed during her seven years at the New York Times. Similarly, Williams’ work as a documentarian explores intersections of health, family and personal identity while also capturing a sense of place and sentiment, evoking feelings of of romanticism and nostalgia.
