35% of Metro riders are back on the train

Around 1.78 lakh rode the Metro last month; no plans of reintroducing
tokens
About 35 per cent of the passengers have returned to using Metro services provided by the
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) compared to the daily 4.5 lakh ridership recorded during the pre-Covid days. On average, 1.55 lakh people travelled every day on the green and purple lines in February, which is the highest ever since the
BMRCL resumed operations in September last year. Officials, however, have no immediate plan to re-introduce the token system.
