Hyundai Motor Company Australia has recalled
198 examples of 3.5-litre V6-powered variants of the
2021 Hyundai Santa Fe, citing a potential fault with the fuel supply pipe.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The fuel supply pipe attached to engines may be defective, which may result in a fuel leak.
"If a fuel leak occurs, this can result in an engine compartment fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident, serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users," the notice continues.
A similar recall was issued in late June 2021 for the Hyundai Santa Fe V6's twins under the skin, the Kia Carnival people mover and Kia Sorento large SUV.
